Bad weekend on the diamond. Hope they can salvage tomorrow & wrap up the divisional title next weekend.
Our guys better hope they can get some favorable matchups in regional play to at least advance to Supers.

Clemson is not the number 2 team in the nation. I am just a big of fan as anyone else. We have to find a way to win tomorrow. Let’s go Tigers!!!!!

Gordon is supposed to be the closest thing we have to a real closer. True, we have no one on the level of wakes closer. That said, why didn't we bring Gordon to start the 8th and close out the game.
I noticed that wake coaches wasted no time to change pitchers. Even if you don't bring in Gordon for the 8th, don't you have to bring in marchal? Mahlstedt gave us 2 good innings with only a run given up, charged with 2. Once thru the lineup. In Feb and March you tinker, not May.
9-9 the last 18 games. Struck out 14 times again. We're 8th in the acc in team BA. Wake is 10th.
Key injuries before the season and during the season hasn't helped. Getting to a super regional would be a huge accomplishment. We may end up a national seed but I hope Clemson fans understand we're not a top 10 team. Bakich will get us there. Our post draft recruiting under Monte was trash. One thing I don't understand, why we can't get stud transfers a la wake et al from top programs and we're getting them from Wofford, Davidson, PC. True, there's some d2 diamonds but not usually pitchers.

Wake’s pitcher in the top of the 9th threw 9 straight strikes. Or that’s what the Clemson batters saw. I don’t disagree, we don’t seem to have a closing pitcher. But I’m going to continue to maintain that there is something wrong with our hitting coaching. Wake’s pitchers are making our hitters look inept. Look at their record. They haven’t been able to do that to everyone they have played. So is their pitching that good, or our batting that bad. Maybe a little of both. This series has taken the fire out of my belly. I’ll bet it hasn’t helped the team’s either. Sure hope they can win tomorrow. But I just can’t listen to another game right now. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers of Clemson fans, students, husbands, etc. And Go Tigers. Win one for your mothers tomorrow.

This maybe a touchy subject to some or even most, but didn't it seem like the wake batters knew what pitches our pitchers were throwing at any time in the count and just waited for their pitch to come and knew when it was about to come. I mean this wake team hasn't been pitcher killers with their bats...
