Thank You to those who heard the bells of Tillman one last time
An early morning ride of thankfulness wound up at Clemson’s Scroll of Honor. I often write about Clemson’s military history and the Scroll of Honor because I feel like we owe it to ourselves, and those who came before us, to acknowledge that beautiful history and to pay homage to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Very nice David ..... and it is indeed a different feeling when thinking about the sacrifice that these Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors, and others made. “All gave some, some gave all”. It is the ones that gave “all” that we honor today.

This is a very nice tribute by David Hood! I'm getting in my car in a few minutes to drive to the Scroll of Honor to reread it and feel the memorial.

Thank you David, it’s a great reminder of how thankful we should be for our loved ones, the youth that will carry the future and the sacrifices those before us made so we can have freedom, faith, love and hope.
I’m thankful for all who made sacrifices so we can live in the greatest country ever and continue to live free. Our freedoms will always be challenged but remembering why we must fight to keep them is the life line for Clemson & America ????.
The best is yet to come as the great revival is upon us! I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!

Thank you for a very emotional piece of writing. I am thankful for the survival of my three older brothers who all were WW ll battle field survvers and my own survival of the Korean War.
Billy Preacher, a Clemson football player, was in the same group of officers as I who flew together to the Korean Theater. Billy gave the supreme sacrifice very soon after entering combat. Another interesting member of that group was General Patton’s son who ultimately became a General .
I think the other football player who lost his life during the Korean War was named Childers.
Rudy Anderson, a U-2 pilot and friend, was the only casualty of the Cuban Crisis. His plane was shot down while on a photographing mission.
Let’s never forget their service and sacrifice.

God bless every soul that never come back bc of fighting for what they believed in, and the ones who lost their life after being forced to fight for what they didn't believe in!!!
