can see what they are doing because it's so transparent, and at the end of the day they've got to be at least a little embarrassed at their shamelessness/lack of self-respect.

I live in Columbia and THE STATE quit being objective when the McClatchy Group bought the newspaper. It has become an extension of the USC Gamecock newsletter. The newspapers in Greenville/Charleston do a much better job being "fair and balanced". The local radio stations are just as bad.

The Greenville News has become a two page rag the last few years. Sports Editor Bart Wright is not very pro Clemson, but has to write about us because of location.

can actually read his drivel. I would bet that there is not another paper with the circulation of the Greenville News, were no one ever is heard to comment on or ever mention the sports page editor... Never a word about his work.. It is meaningless.

Amen. And the funny thing is that the local Gamecock fans don't think it is biased enough. they want it to become an extension of "Spurs and Feathers".

but USC sports coverage and the obits. The next step will be not publishing every day, maybe 3-4 times per week only. Daily print is dying away.
