Seems like notre dame game was lean on Mafah to win. Play conservative then yesterday against GT it really started to look a lot like Garret Riley offense. We saw WR motion we saw tricks and eye candy we saw for first time this season. I almost wonder if Chad morris had any influence in the game plan yesterday. Almost saw a glimpse of Chad morris in that offense. Receivers got separation part of it is Cades decision making was great and the scheme was good and got guys open. I love this balance of run and pass over last two games. This offense will be really good next season and hard to stop. Cade will be the QB everyone was expecting and we will be in that 12 team playoff.
The more people we play the more we learn and the more of Riley's offense we can employ. I think Dabo getting mad and putting everyone on notice opened up the roster and some guys got a chance to show what they could do when they otherwise might not have. This is helping us with our evaluation of who we can trust and it is only going to pay bigger dividends as we finish strong and prepare for next season.
I'm glad we are bowl eligible to give us those extra practices and opportunities to work the younger guys even harder. Patience will be rewarded at the right time...
Good post. The reason our offense has been more successful recently, is we are now moving the ball on the ground. The OL seems to have figured out some things and are executing and opening holes. When ND and GT had to respect the running game, it gave Cade more time and opportunities to connect with the WRs. Sure hope our boys can continue to build on this and take care of business the next two weeks. Go Tigers and beat the Tarholes!
