They ran out of pretend money, and realized they don’t need a Senior Executive Deputy Assistant to the Associate Athletic Director.
More schools will be doing this.

looks like the Jimbo firing AD (Bjork?) left for Ohio State just in time. Staying in w fairly deep pockets instead of having to make the tough decisions.
I think some schools will be facing the we can pay staff or we can pay players but not both decision. Jimbo's buyout just got A&M to it quicker than others

Bjork got arguably one of best AD jobs, if you like that lifestyle, after colossal mistakes with Jimbo.

Donors and schools that haven't been winning will pay whatever it takes to get back in the conversation... UNTIL they realize you can't buy wins and culture.
As this slowly happens, donors will quit giving millions to back-up QBs and transfer guys for mediocre results. Texas AM is the perfect first example and I see many others following.
In a free market with limited rules, supply and demand always correct the problems in time.

of the most competitive in the history of mankind. So many people want those jobs it's not even funny. I knew a guy that applied for one of the marketing positions at Clemson. Hundreds of applicants. He made it to the top 5. They required him to submit a draft of the top 5 things he would do if he got the job. And then put on a dog and pony show of these in his presentation as the final interview. He didn't get it and was pi$$ed that he basically gave them 5 free ideas from a marketing professional.

We did that for a business class project for fast food chain breakfasts. The professor took our ideas and got a nice check from "a chain" for selling them a plan to implement breakfasts, which they did. Life ain't fair.

Pretty lame if Clemson took his ideas and marked them as their own...places that do that in general are just icky.
Hope your friend at least got paid for his work.

Didn’t know that. Also in that article, didn’t know his oldest daughter played volleyball for, and graduated from Clemson, along with his youngest daughter finishing up architecture at Clemson currently.

It’s a move in preparation for starting to pay players. They are clearing room & resources to easier transition into direct payments to players. Directly paying players is coming. Probably sooner than most expect.
