Should we go up-tempo Saturday or slow and grind it out?

Their weakness is their D. They are bad in rushing D; worse in passing D. Seems like if we are up tempo, getting to the line and feeding the backs play after play, that their D will get gassed. I think we could run on them non stop. Problem is .... their offense is generally lights out. Giving the ball back to them on any quick 3 and outs might be a huge problem. Don't want a shoot out but we have to do something to score points. I think we must go up tempo to do that.

We haven't run tempo hardly at all this year. Doubt we start now.

He seems to do well in up-tempo because he doesn’t have to

Think and, generally, the hot read is the only read in that style. I think he would do better. I don’t think we’re good at it because I don’t think we have a play caller on offense that can run it well despite the fact that our OC sai in the spring that he would run the offense with more tempo.

How bout tempo with the 2 back set? DJ has had success with tempo this year and Shipley and Mafah has been lights out when they line up together in the backfield. Tempo promotes good rhythm and that is what the offense lacks at times.

Thought the same thing. Would love to see the 2 backs, up tempo and keep their defense on the field. We could gas them I think.

2nd Half-Rinse and repeat. Adjust accordingly based on how many points UNC scores.

I wish we would go up-tempo all the time.

It worked great for us in the past, but we moved away from it under Elliott for some reason.
My theory is that Dabo got more involved in the play calling which made tempo prohibitive.
Now, we go at a snail’s pace. It’s super frustrating.

It’s cold to say, but going up tempo we’ll find out if it’s DJ’s night or not quicker, leaving more time if a change is needed.

It just means our 3 and outs will take less time, leaving the D on the field even longer against a good QB

The more plays we run, the more turnovers we'll have.

Why don't we go back to the "I" formation. Or maybe the "Veer". Just do not go running to get 2nd and 5 and then throw two passes and then punt.

The last thing we need is two unforced fumbles like last Saturday.

Running tempo favors the offense. Our offense needs all of the favors it can get.

Do what we SHOULD have done last week. Two back set....run it. Then Run it. Then, when they soften up a little....run it some more. Run it until we run out of running backs.

Im with you on the run. They had no answer for it so we thought passing would work. They were stacking the box so the passing option was logical but when they cant stop the run and your QB is throwing it 10 yards short of the reciever running should have been options 1,2, and 3.

Been waiting for that all year. We can only hope.
