You should be able to run there, eat, and run back home in under 2 hours if you’re as old as me. And as hungry.

good dog any more. The chili is the key of course. I've almost given up and do em at home when I'm jonseing for a couple. Homemade chili, grill the wieners & toast the buns, mustard and onions....

Would love to see some of the chili recipes if anyone is interested in sharing some. I been trying to make some good homemade chili and I am close to what I like but just seems like I am missing one ingredient or one step. Thanks

Hot dogs, to me, are just something to get you over to meal time. All are about the same if you put chili on them. Opinions are just like something else though.

It was at what then was a DuPont plant between Goose Creek and Moncks Corner, SC. Us enterprising younger guys found this little dive Ma and Pop grocery type place with a small pool table annex ((4 table?) outside Goose Creek. The name was a spoof of Piggly Wiggly, it was called the Hoggly Woggly #1. Which would lead you to believe there was another one somewhere, but we never found that one.
Anyway, we all worked rotating shifts back then, and our long weekend every month started after the last night shift. We would get off at 8am on a Friday morning, and not have to come back until 8am the following Tuesday. So, to "break out" of night shift mode, a bunch of us would stop off at the Hoggly Woggly #1 after that last night shift, and shoot some pool and consume some sausage dogs until about 4pm. (Some imbibatory adult beverages may have been involved as well.) That place had the best sausage dogs EYE ever personally found.
If you DIDN'T "marathon it" as we called it, you would find yourself wanting to sleep during the daytime for most of your long weekend, and nothing good could come of THAT!

Ms Story’s footlong chili dogs in Opelika, AL are/were legendary. I believe COVID put them out of business.
