I believe that something BIG and IMMINENT is ESPN announcing they will not renew ACC contract that expires at end of 2026, IIRC, and was only discovered in FSU lawsuit, because Clemson and FSU are announcing they are leaving the ACC. The ACC implodes.
But I could be wrong, but you can bet the sheet has hit the fan with the ACC lawsuits which ESPN wants no part of. They are going to start a sports streaming service and do not want the bad publicity and do not want to tick off millions of football fans.
And Josh Pate is a pretty reliable source.

Possibly going to a full on employment system where players are employed by the schools?

hope not.... that will be when I'm done. You think the 'pressure' is great for athletes now? Just wait until they are employees and unions are involved..... and you can't 'fire' them. LMAO.

They have just about ruined the sport as it is. Anymore changes for the worst could be the final nail in the coffin.

ACC going to collapse. Very possible some of the remaining teams stick together and form new conference with Tulane’s of the world.
The ACC mismanagement arguments are getting stronger and stronger and when your two (and likely more) want out, it’s just a matter of time.

They are moving Clemson, FSU, UNC and UVA to the SEC and will rebrand ACCN as SECN2?

About 80 only compete for a football title anyway. But that model would ruin every other college sport. So I hope it is a football only model and the other sports can stay the way they are for the most part.

The Athletic article notes that the effort has been unsuccessful in getting discussions with Big10 and SEC leadership. Thus, I think it’s likely their advising committee is going down it’s own path.

I'll believe it when I see it. The illogical conclusion to this current madness is a 1 or 2 conference college football landscape, gobbling up all the tv loot and top talent. Everybody else will just wither away, trying to use the portal to stay relevant. If something's going to change, it better show up soon.
