defensively they have only really grabbed Clowney, and Gilmore.. as mr football from the state.. we have grabbed some 4 and 5 stars on defense prior but a lot of it is up in the air.. those rankings are terrible.. means nothing until they show up and play

Their coaches are better at evaluating players and making their own decisions on recruiting. Take Thompson and Justice Cunningham for examples.

Some times I think Clemson just goes for "stars".

in the trenches and we haven't recruited well on the O-line or D-line.

You can have all the 5 star receivers in the world, but it don't mean squat if the QB doesn't have time to get them the ball.

You're exactly right and I've been saying this for 3 years now. They recruit SMARTER than we do, we recruit flash and speed on offense, which works really well until you actually play a big ugly defense. Pressure on the QB is the name of the game, and we have been terrible in that dept on both sides of the ball.
