Why is WCCP called Clemson's Flagship station? I have listen

ed to cootville radio and they bash clemson 24-7, on wccp they are welcomed?
WCCP = everyones flagship station

This is my number one beef with WCCP they want the label without doing what it takes to earn it. They shouldn't let coots bash Clemson on its airwaves the same way the Columbia stations do for USCjr. Some of those shows Clemson fans can't even call in.

The coots already owned the police band radio, now they have the 24/7 SEC love fest on in Columbia.
There are Clemson fans in Columbia, including the Governor. Maybe she can do something about this...LOL.

some class they should get some professional broadcasters. The whole scheme and presentation is pathetic. Sounds like a bunch of uneducated guys taking to each other on the phone.

they are the station that Tiger fans ALL OVER THE WORLD listen to. They need to understand that--they are listened to because they are Clemson's flagship station and Tiger fans in Cootlumbia, Charleston, Atlanta, Orlando, San Francisco, Mexico, etc. etc. etc. all listen to WCCP because of that -- they need to embrace their huge opportunity to BE Clemson's flagship station and dive into Clemson things whole hog.
Come on WCCP keep moving in the right direction.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a misinterpretation of what "flagship station" really means. It means WCCP will preempt any originally scheduled programming to carry live coverage of Clemson sporting events. It does not mean they are supposed to only talk Clemson 24/7. The content of the shows are caller driven and the different perspectives make it more enjoyable…for me anyway.

station is just that--a COOT flagship station.
Now, if I want to listen to OUR flagship station it is not the same. See the problem? HUGE for Clemson fans AROUND THE WORLD--not just in the Upstate--who want "our" station to embrace being our flagship station. I can tune into national radio shows to get a whole bunch of perspectives but I don't want that when I tune into WCCP--I want what I am seeking--a Clemson flagship radio station with respect to all things Clemson.

Again, you are misinterpreting "flagship station." I lived in Columbia for 10 years and found their shows had (and welcomed) just as much Clemson talk as they did sc, Teddy Hefner was very fair with both sides, IMO. And when I say perspective, I mean Clemson/sc/uga, not national perspectives. Further more, look thru the threads of this "flagship" message board. Many Clemson t-netters talk more about sc than Clemson.
Sure WCCP could do a lot more...like less ads, more talk. Minimze technical difficulties. And I don't like the NBA, NFL talk, but it is minimal to the overall content. But don't bust their chops because coots want to call in and stir us up a little.

ESPN Radio in Charleston is the Flagship station for Citadel Football, but tune in on any weekday and you won't hear the first mention of Citadel sports.
