do we send Knaak out on short rest? or go with Darden? Im assuming EB is going to send Darden out there.

Darden he didn’t go but what 2/3 innings against BC. That was really just a bad game he’s been solid for us this year.

Well it depends on which game matters. We just need to beat the winner of Miami/louisville. If our first game is the meaningless game I would throw Rocco Reid

There’s no chance in hades that Knaack doesn’t pitch game one and three if we can keep his pitch count low. He’s the only post season caliber pitcher we have. I worry about middle inning relievers and lack of a shut-down elite closer. We will be a tough out against anyone even with our pitching woes.

Knaack isn’t pitching on Thursday. It all depends on which game we need to win but I guarantee knaack will not pitch Thursday.

What does it matter? You think the pitching staff is full of Cy Young winners so it's weird that would be of concern to you.

It’s super simple. We pitch our best pitcher in the game that matters most. Knaak goes against whoever wins game 1 in our pool between Louisville and Miami. It’d be nice to win the other game (they all matter to some extent for our national). But winning the most important game gets us into the final four and gives us shots at more matchups against (theoretically) top teams and another ACC title.

If we need to win Thursday instead of Friday knaack still isn’t going to pitch Thursday. Setting him up for the regional is way more important than needing to win Thursday to try to make the weekend.

Knaak isn’t pitching Thursday or Friday. Not gonna move him up a day. IMO Darden should throw the important game. He gets hit and last outing was bad but he has gone deep into the game many times lately….. that would allow us to save our bullpen as much as possible for the rest of the weekend while still giving us a great chance of winning the game. Tristan Smith has been bad. Maybe throw him in the meaningless game but I wouldn’t.

I would throw Darden against the winner of Miami/Louisville.

Throw Reid, Allen, Fitzgerald, Legurnic, Titsworth etc in the meaningless game

Throw Knaak in the semis Saturday

Start Smith in the Champ with Barlow ready to come in immediately. Barlow would be my first go to in any game that matters
