What restaurant do you miss in Clemson?

Yesterday, my wife decided she wanted to go get some lunch. We ended up driving for over an hour to go to Seneca to get my current favorite Chinese in the State, The China Inn. This got me to thinking, what restaurant in Clemson do you miss?
I have three.
1. House of Leung - By far the best Chinese food I have had in the South. It was so good. I was disappointed when the owners finally retired. The land was then sold, and it is now a car wash. However, the family of the original owners own the China Inn in Seneca, and it is really good too.
2. Parcheesies (SP?) - This place had some really good pizza and wings. It had a good atmosphere, and the prices were phenomenal. When the restaurant closed in the late 90's it became a Japanese hibachi take out.
3. Sardis Den/Goobers - Although it just recently shut down, the ribs here were incredible. I believe the all you can eat crab legs probably was a mistake and killed their bottom line (lol). A hole in the wall, but that was the charm with the place. Anyone could fit right in.

Mushroom onions and peppers every Saturday night at midnight when the bars would close back in the early 80’s. Eat 1/2 when I got back to Johnstone B and the rest for breakfast at noon Best times of my life.

Chanelos is legendary. Not great pizza by today's standards. But in the mid 1970s at 11 pm, it was fabulous!

Even Chanelo's basic turkey sandwich was better than any other. It must have been the type of bread they used.

When I attended Clemson, there was only one. Dan’s. It’s the only one I can miss. Old Dan was on the town council and would block any new eating establishments from coming into Clemson.

Chanelo's - had the best "house" pizza (mozzarella, tomato slices, thin sliced ham, basil) ever. I'm glad someone mentioned this because for the longest time I couldn't remember its name, and kept thinking it was Colombo's (which is still around in Pendleton and Pelzer, I think?)
Parcheesi's - great place for cheap pizza and to hang out, within walking distance of campus.
Acropolis
Sentimental shout-out to the Canteen on the 2nd floor of the Loggia. Not that the food was all that special, but you could get Clemson ice cream there, and it was an easy place to meet and hang out with friends.
Regretfully, I never ate at House of Leung. I always heard it was great.

I took my wife there a few years back and she had never been, but she heard it was cheap and decent. I said whatever you do don’t go to the bathroom. Well of course she has to go just as our food arrives, and when she gets back to the table she says I can’t eat we are leaving. So I scarf down my meal and get hers to go.

Interesting no one said the Western Sizzlin? That place was as old school as it gets.
Golden Corral will never hold a candle those 70's cafeteria line style steakhouses like Sizzler. Bonanza, Western Steer etc.

Personally, I loved Western Sizzlin. Those yeast rolls and ice cream for dessert.
Cool story, I met Coach Swinney and his wife there one Sunday afternoon in 2013. He had just left church and was there with his wife and one of his sons. We were both getting cheese for our baked potatoes at the bar.

Food was got awful, but the only place you could get a decent meal at 3 AM besides waffle house. I do recall squaring off with some local rednecks in the parking lot because one of them wouldn't stop staring at my friend, who was an athlete at Clemson. It could've gone real bad, but they backed down and left. Never a dull moment at Sonny's after 2 AM

Not really Clemson related but I miss Ryans and Quincy's. Especially Ryans. Two years ago, I stopped at a Quincy's in Florence off of I-95. Yeast rolls and a steak.

I miss Charlie T’s by the lake in or near Anderson. We ate lunch there almost every Friday for years. They hired “nice waitresses” and the Halloween costumes always made you smile.

Yes I enjoyed Ryan's too until they stopped being a steak house and went to that all country buffet concept.

Great question.
I really miss Keith Street. I went mostly with my law partner as an adult but a great place to have lunch after a pitcher or two at TTT. TTT is now awful as it relates to food. The bathrooms always sucked, but it's got that draw of nostalgia.
Also, I miss Bash Riprocks Bleu Cheese Burger...

I thought I was the only one who remembered that place and enjoyed it. Probably my favorite fries ever. After the one in Seneca closed, I made sure to stop at the one in Conway (I think) on the way to beach. And one in Knoxville whenever I was there. I don't think they exist anywhere now.

1. Keith Street. Don’t remember any one thing off the menu just remember always liking it.
2. Explorers. They would sell their parking spots for tailgating during the season. My friends and I would always go in together and buy one. They would do their chicken tenders in their wing sauces (back before this was really a thing) and their teriyaki tenders and garlic parm tenders were awesome.
3. Super Taco. A mom and pop burrito shop by the old Golds Gym. They had the best marinated chicken burrito I’ve ever had.

On either Tuesday or Thursdays Del Taco had really cheap tacos and we would go every week after my late afternoon class. When I’d get back to the apartment my roommate would be waiting on me to drive over there 😊

While maybe not officially a restaurant, I have to give a "shout out" to the Clemson House. After eating at Harcombe and Schilletter for weeks at a time, the Clemson House was surely a treat back in the day.

I miss House of Leung, Channelos, Del Taco, and Frodo’s Pizza. Frodo’s had good pizza and it’s where I learned to actually LIKE beer. Before that I drank it but didn’t like it- I had been drinking PBR, but found Molson Golden was actually good.
