I do not like to see Clemson playing both Furman and Georgia Southern. I would like to see one of those teams replaced by someone from a major conference, even a power 5 conference.

You see Texas A&M on there right?
Our schedule is always going to be structured as such for OOC games:
Coots Power 5 team Group of 5 team FCS team (most likely in state)
Don't see it changing anytime soon when it's been this way for a while and we've made the playoffs 3 straight years.

We have to play Furman (or some other in state team). But I'd like to see GA Southern replaced by someone from a power five.
Doesn't have to be a perennial powerhouse, even someone like Vandy would be cool.

Why would we do that, when we can keep a Group of 5 team on the schedule and make the playoff?

We could end up being the first ones out one year.

The problem with scheduling another P5/FBS team (like Vandy) is you'll have to return a game to them in the future, meaning one less home game (and revenue). By scheduling Georgia Southern, who is in the Sun Belt Conference (a FBS conference), you don't have to return the home game. We can't afford a season where we only have six home games.
We won't be left out of the CFP playing two SEC teams in the same season out of conference, which is what we've done just about every year since Dabo has been here. That is, unless we manage to lose two games, in which case we don't deserve to make it.
Just my opinion.
Go Tigers!

Why would we have to do that? Bama don't do it. Course, that's Bama, right? Can't tell you WHEN Bama has played a home and home with anyone outside the $$$EC?????

This is the same OOC format we typically use now

South Carolina 1 good P5 team (A&M, Auburn, ND, UGA, etc) 1 G5 team (Georgia Southern, Kent St, Troy, App St, etc) 1 in state FCS team
Don't expect to see that change anytime soon.

After get through Texas A7M are first real game imo is FSU. I think they will be good next year. By that time TL will be firing on all cylinders. If we gt by hat we are definitely in the playoff again. Tat's what I am imagining.

I'm not sure how good FSU will be next year, they're in a pretty weird place right now.
Recruiting class is ranked 44th with only 10 commits, lose James on defense, not sure how their O-Line recruiting has went but it needs helps, and who knows if Francois comes back or not.
That being said, we do travel to Tally so it will likely be a close game.

We are supposed to schedule a cupcake before our rival...

...but now we have Open Date before FSU so that's even better.
Also we scheduled a cupcake before the ACC Championship Game, so that's good too.
