Does he count as part of the Dabo Coaching Tree?

You know how down in Tuscaloosa if a coach stops to get gas while driving through town he’s all of a sudden part of the “Saban Tree”; we can do the same.

Wondering why we should care about the coaching tree?

Best wishes to Nobles & family to build something great in a great (hot) location! He will certainly benefit from having spent two years with Coach Swinney.

North Greenville is only a football-affiliated member. Every other sport, they compete in Conference Carolinas.

he was an asst, working with our qb’s and wr’s this year?

and he got a head coaching position. Interesting. I hope it works out for the young coach. Reminds me a little bit of when we hired Tommy West. Because he was “the most like Danny” of any of the candidates. I don’t recall exact numbers, but TW’s last game as HC at UT-Chattanooga before we hired him was a brutal blowout loss.

Wasn’t West something like 3-8 in his only season as a head coach?

Arguably our worst major sports hire. He was even less qualified than Shyatt (who, ironically, was hired because he was supposed to be like our former head coach).

Seriously!? His only season?? Now I’m starting to get a better picture. If you’re not just trying to provoke, this explains a lot.

We should have hired Bobby Johnson instead of West. Johnson had an outstanding winning percentage at Furman and was a Tiger alumn and player. He went on to do well at Vanderbilt where football is basically an inter mural sport there trying to compete in arguably the best football conference in the country.

Right down the road from me In P-cola. Always puts out a competitive squad. Plus it’s Nobles alma mater. He should do well there. Best of luck to him.

No noise on Jeff Scott so I'm guessing nothing is happening on that front unless this is the beginning. Hope he comes back.

So he worked with QBs and WRs the last two years and got the job? I'm guessing they must have only watched the last 50 minutes of the ACC Championship game if they made the hire off of performance.

UWF is a legitimate Div 2 power.
I wish him great success. (I have a friend who is a UWF grad and follows them closely all year.)

Perennial D2 power since they added football,

won a title in 2019, lost in quarterfinals this year, promising future...but this is a questionable hire for me. I'm guessing he was considered a good co-offensive coordinator there, because the resume at Clemson doesn't compute to much. To say he "assisted" with the quarterbacks and wide receivers during a time where Clemson had its poorest performance from its quarterbacks and wide receivers is not really something you want to put on the mantle. Certainly he's not to blame, or the only one to blame, but it's like saying you were part of the research & development team for New Coke.
Seems like he was a heck of a player and has strong ties there, but he's not even 30 and with as many "staffers" as Clemson employs (note that he wasn't even called a coach), he may not have gotten anywhere close to game planning. Actually, that might be a good thing looking at our last two years of play calling.

Awesome opportunity and obviously some powerful people see promise and potential in Nobles.
The guy was here for a quick stop, probably learned invaluable and irreplaceable lessons from Clemson and Dabo, and will hopefully use that knowledge to go build his future. The comments about his lack of impact on WR/QB are just not necessary, and clearly he was not the "lead" of those position groups anyway.
This is a dream come true for him and Clemson had a hand in making it happen. Great story, great opportunity. Good luck coach!
