clemson fan base

cant even imagine the idiotic responses i am going to get to this. i have been going to clemson games for over 50 years and the so called fan base we have these days is pathetic to say the least. from booing college kids, to calling radio shows and bustracking kids that are giving their all for clemson, to people that leave way before halftime and re-enter sometime in the third quarter and people that leave way before the game is over. there are 7 opportunities per year to see the tigers play and far to many people do not take advantage of it. yet when things go wrong they are the first ones to b!tch and complain. i am guessing every fan base has these people but it is as bad now at clemson as it ever has been and it is very sad.

See my post below
And that "fan" missed Vic's sack/score because he had not made it back in the stadium yet
What an honor it is to sing the alma mater with the team then go down and pat them on the back!

Disagree with the fans booing players. But the late in, early out and staying out half of third is spot on. Our players and Clemson deserve better.

This is what you find to complain about in a 41-0 total domination victory?

You mean the team that runs out to a half empty stadium to start the third.

I agree with you. I've been thinking some of those same thoughts. Saturday was a perfect football day - sunny, blue skies, crisp temperature. Game time was perfect - plenty of time to tailgate before and after the game and still get home to most corners of the state at a decent hour. Our team put on quite a show both offensively and defensively and, yet, the stands were deserted in the fourth quarter. What the heck is going on? I've been embarrassed by fans leaving when the games are tough but at least, I can understand it a little. This is a trend nationally but I thought our Tiger faithful were above this type of behavior. And before some of you dimwits call me a Coot, I have been attending games since I was a student in the 70's. We stay until the last cannon fires (yes, even at last year's FSU game and the loss to WVU at the Orange bowl).

final gun, even the FSU debacle last year. Truly embarrassed when I see fans who think it is more important to drink at halftime than watch the Tigers, much less leave before the game is over. A shame this awesome place/team is taken for granted.

have been coming since the 60's and we use to have great fans who stayed for the whole game. These new fans are not all in they go up and down the stairs like its a fashion show and leave early. The only ones to boo is this type of fan.

They played one of the best games I've ever seen at Clemson and get empty stands as thanks. If this is our fan base, we don't deserve a great team

In the half and never came back. I'll admit I left after Adam Choice's 35 yard run with 5 min left in the game. But I also had a 5 year old and twin 2 year olds to get home to bed. They were getting quite restless.
Although when my family left the stadium was already pretty empty.

than the game. In some ways we have morphed into USuC because they used to say back in the 80's -- You go to Columbia for the Party but you go to Clemson for the football.

Had to stay home due to a family health issue and my son was in Charlotte for a wedding. We both talked about the booing after the game and couldn't figure out why. What was that all about?

to easy to get the twitter update on the half time pass - CU really needs to consider doing away with it...
Me - I watched every snap of the SC State game - and got me a seat with a cushion and back for the second half.
That team too durn exciting to miss a play. IMO>

Party like this - we have 6 season tickets and my brother-in-law and his wife never attend. They get all decked out, tailgate all day and then spend maybe 10 minutes of playing time in the game. We have tons of family/friends that would kill to sit in those seats with us, but can't pass them along because they're supposedly going in. And then like yesterday, I got pissed because by halftime they still weren't in. I ran out to the tailgate and they were out drinking with a bunch of their friends. "We're heading in now" they say, so I go back in. Finally, halfway through the 3rd they come in, sit around for a few minutes, then leave again to "check on the tailgate". It's garbage when anyone does it, but even worse when it's one of your own.
