Yeah, it’s great that we are using it to our advantage and leveling the playing field with the portal in a couple of sports at least.
If you let the competition have an advantage, they will use it. It’s either get on board or be at a disadvantage.
I’m sure we can all read between those lines.

I love Coach Swinney & his mentality & culture for the football team, including his priority for Clemson commits over transfers even in spite of the negative side effect.
Clemson is unique, & that's OK. I kinda like it.

Yeah let's abandon one of our top sales pitches to recruits that makes us different from everyone else.

It’s a lot easier to make an impact through the portal in baseball and basketball than in football. I would think that should be obvious.

"The Purge" comes to mind...

Coach Bakich is absolutely purging his former home (I think this is the 7th transfer from Michigan since he left) but this one REALLY has to sting.
The story above leaves out a lot of interesting info many other baseball fans may already know, but Obertop entered the transfer portal early last summer before committing to come back to Michigan for his senior season... only to enter the portal again this year to join the very Clemson team he said he had turned down to stay a Wolverine.
I thought he tested the MLB Draft waters but it may not have worked out. Still, as a junior, he led the Michigan team last year in ERA, home runs & RBI's, then later moonlighted as a first-base coach for the team. Just a monster steal (again).
They loved Coach Bakich in Ann Arbor, now they're reeling, it seems. Hopefully he retires here & doesn't do the same to Clemson but good to welcome another midwesterner to the Upstate of South Carolina.

I hear you, just saying 7 transfers, I mean, yikes.
It's a lot, & it's gotta be tough; even if we don't care about anyone outside of Anderson County, it's kinda fascinating to see the level of ripping-their-hearts-out Coach Bakich has helped convince the transfers to commit to, so to speak; it's an absolute coup.

I like this pickup. My biggest question is does he go back to 1st base as he played there early, or to catcher, rotating with Jarrell? If rotating...does that mean Bakich is assuming that both Prather and Marshall, or at least Prather, will never set foot on campus? I'd be surprised if Prather ends up a Tiger, but you never know.

In all sincerity, it could be both (in a sense).
I'd suggest catcher but he's also a graduate transfer &, crucially, was a part-time first-base coach at Michigan.
Having a coaching-type & leader with tons of experience is invaluable beyond his position alone, but we'll see where he ends up on the roster.

Those kids are coming. They’ll be incoming freshmen though and we just get Jimmy for 1 year. His defense is superior to Jarrells so that’ll be interesting. Idk if he starts at 1B or C but he will surely back Jarrell up and someone else would have to play 1B that day.

I see him replacing Billy at DH initially. I'm still wondering if he's fully recovered from his injury but my guess is Bak made no promises on pt. If he's 100% he'll be a star next season. Go Tigers!!!

Welcome to Tiger Town! This looks to be a good one to add to the team. Maybe can start out as a DH.

Interestingly enough, his transfer may be a result of all these Michigan guys starting to follow Coach Bakich to Clemson (they've lost 7 & we've picked up 3 if I remember right including 2 grad transfers).

Bakich “disciples” only help Tigers program

They give EB an extra year to establish a relationship with all the HS coaches and players in the SE. He is able to flush out a few more of Monte’s guys and get more of his own talent to commit to Tigers.
