When UNC FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST ACC

I was listening to a podcast tonight and the guys said that the ACC will settle all lawsuits and Clemson/UNC/FSU will be gone when UNC SUES ACC.
They stated that UNC supported both FSU/Clemson's lawsuit and did not vote for ACC to sue them. The Podcaster said that those three schools have already been offered landing spots. UNC has been offered by both SEC and BIG. UNC IS weighing which offer it wants or they are holding out for more. When UNC decides, it will file law suit. They say those three are the only ones with landing spots and I think that is true. The rest I don't know about.

They have no choice. Big 12 or Acc. Both suck.

Did they say whether it was BIG10 or SEC for either Clemson or FSU? (or perhaps both)

I’m going to say the ACC may be relegated to their Southern conference roots and join up with the current SoCon members.

Wow how naive the person is that posted the ACC would join the Southern Conference. Some people just have no clue about good the overall sports, men's and women's, are in the ACC.

I have listened to numerous you tube channels since the lawsuit broke on Tuesday. Everyone seems to think Clemson handled this situation very strategically.

NO ONE in the media or on podcasts knows any more about who has been offered what than you or me. They are all guessing without any facts to back up their claims.

These podcasters typically have little more real information than you or me. If they thought UNC was going to sue and that was going to be it they wouldn't be fighting in court now. Why counter sue FSU/Clemson if you're planning on rolling over anyway?

Those are reasonable conclusions based on the actions of the 3 schools.

I conclude that when the UNC BOT meets next week they will vote to sue the ACC. I base that on the strong comments made by the POT chair yesterday.
But, what seems reasonable and rational to me isn't always what happens.
The administrators at FSU, Clemson, UNC and every other ACC school aren't stupid. They may make wrong decisions (see Jim Phillips) but they aren't stupid. They don't go out and do things based on what they read on Facebook or watch on Youtube. They pay attorneys big bucks to advise them and guide them through the legal maze. And, they have a lot more information than any of us have.

Media rights and media rights valuations are not within the expertise of most University Presidents or Athletic Directors. They are entrusting the conference to be acting in their best interest in these matters. We were not supposed to be in an adversarial role with the conference. They were supposed to be negotiating in good faith in our best interest. I doubt any individual member institutions went out and hired special counsel to review these documents. It was probably given a cursory glance by general counsel and given the okay.
As someone who has worked with lawyers in a variety of contexts, the presumption that a contract is sound because it was written by or reviewed high price attorneys is grossly misplaced. Most contracts are boiler plate and been refined over years and years. Anytime an issue requires significant modification beyond boiler player, there is a very high probability of serious flaws. And the client is rarely going to have the expertise to spot them.

Schools and the ACC will end up reaching some kind of agreement imo. Who knows how long that will take. Only lawyers benefit from dragging this out.

That would be pretty stupid for unc to do that...with CCC and FSU gone they get an invite to the prom almost every year...the big dance provides more revenue than the GOR mess...free ham sandwiches...even Nancy State could win one!
