Ticket question (not selling tickets)

Nov 7, 2012, 9:54 PM

I am looking at buying some tickets to the coot game off of craigslist. He says the tickets are electronic, so I asked him to send me a picture, and it is just a piece of computer paper. Looks legit..only thing that worries me is that he put pieces of white paper where it appears the section and row number would be, but he says it is to make sure the barcode isn't copied. Any suggestions? Real or fake?

We do have a new electronic ticket so could be legit. I

would call personally and get his name. You can look it up to see if he is a donor or not.

Buy the tickets if he gives you a copy of his drivers license

If you meet him in person to buy the ticket get his car license number too.

There have been several instances of counterfeit tickets

Nov 7, 2012, 10:12 PM

This year. Not saying these are necessarily counterfeit but I'm not sure I'd buy a ticket that had been sold electronically already (ie there is no way to know they didn't make 15 copies of the same paper). If you were going through StubHub where you had some protection it would be a different story but Craigslist doesn't give you that. They tickets may be perfectly fine but I doubt I'd buy them (of course my opinion might be if different if I didn't have tickets already).

that is true. It sucks that there is no way to find out until gametime haha

Have him meet you at the Maryland or NC State game

Nov 8, 2012, 8:17 AM

and both of you can go to the ticket office to verify they are real. You should do this at any game when buying this type of ticket from a stranger unless you use StubHub.

Hope this was a helpful (coot) reply. ;)
