One thing some you fans on here have to understand about baseball is that it is a game of ebbs and flows. We got beat by kennesaw state 18-1….. thats baseball sometimes. But we are going through a mini slump along with some injuries. Every hot team in baseball cools down it’s the nature of the game. The best time to slump is the middle of the season, we will gradually pick it up and I believe once we’re full strength from injury we will be back to the well oiled Machine that started the season off #2. Have some patience. Go Tigers!

But will this Tigers team get full strength from injury is the question because it seems like one player will get injured and then finally back to full strength again and then before you know it that player is injured once again

^^^ spot on ^^^
I'm assuming Tallent is either gone or not returning. Smith, you hope gets his groove back. As for Gordon, why wasn't he brought in after Clayton... or instead of Clayton. Nicks a homerun waiting to happen. We keep acting like he's some kind of strikeout king. Coach said we wanted to work Gordon backwards. He only threw 5 pitches last night.
I get what the op said. Baseball is a game of ebbs and flows.
As for hitting, heck we outhit them. Errors and walks gave them the game. Darden pitched pretty good. But HORRY is correct. We're missing key players that one, Taylor may be back.

Agree with that for sure , but do we get anyone from injury back from the pen? I also realize once the post season starts we have guys like Barlow that we can utilize since he’s been out midweek guy , but the pen has been very disappointing all around especially Lately. We can’t rely on the bats and scoring 10 runs a game against top level pitching.

The good pitching and hitting of today may be gone tomorrow and that is baseball. What is amazing is that people seem to understand the up and down of baseball but expect our basketball team to win every game. Crazy.

We know Ciufo is done, so it’s Hinderleider from here on out. Taylor may return for postseason, but that’s alot of rust to knock off. Maybe Cam starts to hit more consistently, but that’s about all I see right now as someone improving off of injury. I saw some news about Smith aggravating his ankle injury yesterday. If so that’s going backwards.

Only into coaches 2nd season too. Give it some time. My goodness many on here were on board with letting Brownlee go 14 seasons.

I agree. I’m viewing this team through the lens of what they have that can blossom next season. There’s some promising freshmen assuming they don’t get raided by NIL. This year advancing past the regional would be huge.

In collegiate baseball most of the time teams that have any chance of winning a national title do not drop off that much.
Teams that compete for Omaha will be in the 50 plus win range.
This team is 5-6 in their last 11 playing really sub par competition. They absolutely laid down today and took it by a very average at best UL team today.
This season was on track for something great, but something happened. And dont tell me we lost Ciufo who is a great glove but his bat was just average.

Pitching was always a question that had to be answered by the freshmen and transfer arms. It didn’t develop, but losing Smith definitely hurt the chances of finally settling on a weekend rotation. Ciufo’s injury impacted more just the play at SS. Taylor had a down year going but atleast he had a good on base number. However, at some point during the juggling of the lineup the productive players decided to compete for the team lead in home runs. Strikeouts went up and LOBs went up as a consequence. They got away from good smart two strike swings that helped manufacture runs. Basically this lineup makes me think Monte Lee is back in the batting cages looking for launch angle numbers.

Meh, Lville hit a couple balls up in to the jet stream against our taxed bullpen, was the difference.
The wind was really blowing out.
Knaak going tomorrow and we haven’t lost when he’s on the mound, another series win barring anything outrageous.
