Staying in Garden City this week.

Where's the best food around here? Seafood I guess, mostly just shrimp, I don't eat much fish. I know Murrells Inlet has several to choose from but didn't know if some were better than others. I've learned one thing about t-net, we take our food seriously. Thanks.

Go to Seven Seas or better Independent (Georgetown) and buy your own.
That is the best way to go. Save money, eat them how and when you want, etc.
If you can't, then you will have plenty of places in Murrell's so enjoy. Some of them may mainly do fried shrimp so watch out.

One of my favorites is a place called Prossers BBQ in Murrell's Inlet. They have a buffet which is the main attraction but you can also order from the menu (my daughter always orders chicken strips or grilled cheese from that). In addition to BBQ, the buffet normally has fried shrimp and oysters, fried chicken, deviled crab, plus a bunch of southern cooked vegetables - mac and cheese, green bean, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, greens, cabbage, etc. The best thing is that it is much cheaper than all of the other buffets. I particularly like all of the vegetables so it makes it really great for us. It's past the biker places on the right before you get to all of the other group of restaurants.

Gulf Stream Cafe right next Marlin Quay used to be very good. I say used to only because I have not been in a long time.
On another note, the bar above the ship's store has always had very cold beer and a great view across the inlet back towards Murrell's.

The wife and I have this thing any time we travel around the world we try to find the best Thai food we can. Long story short a family we met in Nicaragua actually told us about this place; even though we just live down in charleston and had no clue. Anyhow there is this place called Bangkok House on N kings; it's amazing authentic Thai. Y'all will be the only white or black people in there with almost all Thai or Asian families eating; that's how you know it's legit. Prob 10min north from Garden City right past sunset. We go there anytime we find ourselves near the dirty myrtle.

Try Gulf Stream in Garden City Beach. Pacino's for Italian in Garden City. Our favorite would be Cabana or Ocean One on Litchfield Beach which is a little further south. In Murrells Inlet all are good. May want to try the new Claw House or on the south end of Murrell's Inlet Graham's Landing which at one time was a seafood market and restaurant.

I grew up in Surfside/Garden City. Cant really go wrong with any of the above. Salt Water Creek cafe is good too, off 17 on the right when you're heading towards G-town. Gulfstream is ok in my opinion.

restaurant row on 17 South is excellent. Great menu and service, and very affordable.
Marlin Quay is very good generally, but can be pricey.
Russell's is good in Murrell's.
Sara J's on Atlantic is good as well.
Inlet Crab House in Murrell's is really dang good too.

Inlet Crabhouse.
Order 1 pound of fried shrimp, two cole slaws and one order of onion rings.
Two people will be stuffed for around $20 per person.

Lee's Inlet Kitchen, great food, a bit expensive compared to years past. Go to Calabash just inside North Carolina if you go shopping in N. M.B. at the Tanger Outlets. Good food, better prices.
Go Tigers!
