from our adops - "we have identified the ad partner serving these ads. The ad partner that the redirect is serving through is working internally to block it from their server as well. It is a top priority for all of us and we're doing everything we can to support the ad partner in blocking it, so hopefully we'll have it completely blocked very soon."
try clearing your site cookies and cache in the meantime

If this is allowed for years like that, I'd fire them.
So many other sites we all visit have ads, some more wonky than others, but if you're seriously looking in the mirror a bit, it is bad here.
However, I do love the coverage, comradery, etc... I'll keep visiting. It's what it is. Just saying it captor be better. Not at style level so many say 90s dated or what. Not the most UX fun to be had, but there are plenty to see.
Just being honest. Not piling it up. 🤝

I hear you, but it's a global industry problem and has happened on every ad management company and network we have used over the years and that's a LOT of them. Sadly there is just no easy way to screen them, it's a cat and mouse game. As holes are fixed, hackers find others.
The main reason you see it more or only here is because you visit here more often. This is way over simplified but each day you visit, the ads you see on any given page start out with the highest bidding ads. Most advertisers will only show you an ad around 3 times per day. There are lots of advertisers but eventually you get to the bottom of the barrel, where these ads tend to live. That is one reason why clearing cookies can potentially help, but cookies are not used as much as they used to be for tracking.
We are working on getting more direct / local advertisers, which would hopefully help crowd out those lower tier ads.

I've cleared twice. Once set to past 30 days, didn't help.
Went back and cleared all time, still doing it.
4 times while trying to type this post. Keep having to back out and finish typing.
I visit 247 quite a bit. Bunch of ads, but neatly placed (usually) and never full audio pop up or alike. Too many smart people in your corner not to drill down and block theme, or find new providers.

Not sure if you noticed, or this helps, but this pop up I showed you goes from the Amazon screen into a Google screen dialog very quickly. Could be some double pass through trick.
Anywho....

also using the full site on mobile is probably causing it to happen a lot more because some of the ads will check for device and not display to you while the redirects don't care.
FYI - you could go ad free for 22 cents per day!

I'm on fixed income, that has only gotten tighter with inflation and such. I wish I could.
However again, prodding to get a usable experience by spending money is also a little sketch. Just sayin.
And, I'm definitely not a fan of mobile. Maybe some HTML5 with auto resizing could help?
