I mean, both claims are severely lacking sufficient evidence, so that tracks.

Also Leviticus 20:13 says this so it sounds like they are just following the scriptures.
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

I didn't realize anyone believed Dec 25 was the actual birth day of Christ. The fact is, we really don't know the exact day.

How could so many intricate little details be known but not the date of birth?

How many exact dates of birth do we know from over 2000 years ago?
I guess, to me, turning a Pagan ritual into a Christian holiday falls into the category of 'So, what's your point.' Perhaps, moving towards the light was the symbolic reason that day was chosen.

Good point. But how many ancient historical figures have four biographies written about them?
I just think it’s funny that people actually believe the birth stories are actual historical accounts, yet they can’t even accurately tell you the year Jesus was born or the time of year.
Muslims believe in Jesus, they just think the New Testament is corrupted. Maybe they are on to something…

It's not off base to have rough historical accounts of an event without knowing exact dates, especially considering it was that long ago and most likely wasn't considered that big of an event to the masses at that time.
Considering that Islam started over half a mellinia after the Gospels were written, I'd be more inclined to believe the accuracy of the Gospel accounts, that were closer to the action, over Muslim assertions.

I’d be curious to know if any other ancient historians listed dates around that time. Maybe Fordtunate Son can chime in here.

The Big Dog®
It's a good question and I don't know the answer.
There's not much evidence Jesus's birthday was celebrated at all till the early 300's. I think Easter has been celebrated since way back, as was Epiphany (the 3 Wise Men coming to visit), but his birth seems not to have been a big deal for the first few centuries.
Once my holiday schedule clears out a bit I'll do some research on it and see what I can find. Might make a good post.

The accounts go into a lot of detail about the who and where of Jesus's birth, perhaps because they address the prophecies of the Messiah's coming. The accounts give few details about when. We don't even know the exact year, let alone the date. My understanding is (1) a celebration date wasn't selected until centuries later, (2) was never considered to be Jesus's "birthday" and (3) Dec was chosen probably because holidays and celebrations were already occurring at that time of year. As you say, "so what?"
The annual "Christmas came from pagans" rants sound like adolescent girls, and make about as much sense.
