They got hit with tornadoes today, feel so sorry for the families who lost loved ones and everything they have so close to Christmas.

Scary stuff. Tornadoes are no joke. Prayers for those affected.

The photos sent are bad. I’ve got a family member out there helping his crew clean up the mess right now. A lot of good people up there. Please keep them in your prayers.

To be fair. I live just outside Clarksville TN. We got rain. No wind just rain. Not saying their wasn't some extreme weather somewhere but we all need to understand that "Weather" is just another ratings hype for the media. CBS had 6 straight hours of "Code Red" weather. This was not the apocalyptic storm they are claiming, and I know because I live here. Just adding perspective.

You are correct.

While there is quite a mess to clean up those storms are quite normal for that area but this one has claimed 6 lives. From what I hear they are not allowing anyone in and out certain parts of Guthrie. I’ve seen photos of what is being cleaned up. It’s a mess.

Been up there when several tornadoes were in the area. Watching them pop up on the radar around Hopkinsville. The straight line winds rattled this Carolina boy as we sat down in the basement. It was cool to see the community pull together to clear the road (farmers, loggers, fire dept., neighbors and friends) and check on each other after it was all said and done.

I grew up here, and I guess it is like you guys and hurricanes ( I am assuming you are in SC) you just get used to them. I don't even change my plans for tornado watches and severe thunderstorm warnings. Seems like tornados happen once every couple months. Maybe I am not a good barometer except if I say its bad you know its bad lol.

Well sounds like you were lucky, I was specifically talking about the tornado that hit not about how the media twist weather events

I get it. Like I said I am just adding first hand perspective that is not sensationalized. Kinda like when hurricane Sandy hit NJ and the media had 5 million dead and 7 states underwater, and from what I have seen on YouTube and elsewhere that is the same thing they are doing here. Must be a slow news day.

I agree that the news is gonna sensationalize everything, but the one yesterday was pretty serious. I've lived through hurricanes in SC and barely escaped a tornado in TN a couple years ago. Both are horrible, but at least there's some leeway with hurricanes.

Tornadoes are probably the worst weather event that can happen...

At least with a hurricane we get ample warning that it is coming and have time to prepare/evacuate. Tornadoes just drop out of the sky on a moments notice and wreak total devastation within minutes...

TY! Just heard from him. He said they are fine but it came real close. No power and spotty cell coverage but they are all OK. PTL! They lost a second home in the Smokey Mountain fires a few years ago so grateful they were spared this time.
