Maybe Germans, but did anyone see Finebaum say yesterday

Jan 20, 2017, 12:00 PM

that he will never forgive himself for voting for Jackson over Watson? Said he was just flat out wrong, and apologized to DW4. He said he got caught up in the "fluffed" hype and numbers (ex: Jackson's 7 TDs vs Charlotte, and his "leap coming in a game where they had to outscore a terrible Cuse team). Said Heisman voter's egos are so big you won't find many others also willing to admit it, but no one can deny it.

I dont care to Finebaum but at least he can admit when he was wrong. You can tell he was thoroughly impressed with the way we manhandled SCAR, TOSU, and came back against his Bama boys.

Is it time to move this thing to after the season? Especiall

Jan 20, 2017, 12:09 PM

y with the best teams playing 2 of the biggest games on the sports biggest stage after the voting?

Or do you think its still primarily a Regular Season award, and keep it as is?

Finebaum works for the sec. Watches only sec games

Do you think any of these voters actually watch games.

They tow the line.

So in other words, you're saying if you make a mistake, keep your mouth shut, or people will call you an idiot. There's no positive to admitting an error. That's discouraging!

I know I'm in the minority, and yes, I know he's paid to be an SEC homer, but I actually like and respect Finebaum. He actually TRIES to get it right, he calls it like he sees it, and he really does strive to be a journalist. And I've seen him even stand up to guys like Nick Saban who are used to dismissing questions they don't like from local journalists, and ask the hard questions.

It's easy to criticize people who voice opinions, but I think Paul does try to be more than just another self-promoting talking head.

I completely agree with Paul trying his best to offer quality journalism. The weeks after the National Championship this year have shown that he has the class to apologize and say that he was wrong.

he's definitely grown on me too

Don't know if it's because of Clemson's recent success or what but it seems like he's gotten nicer lately.

I didn't care what that sec chanter said last week and I'm not about to start caring now.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Call me an ACC conspiricy theorist but.....

Jan 20, 2017, 12:47 PM

It's easy to run for the first half of the season when you are playing sub par teams, and the ACC refs aren't calling holding calls. Look at the Houston game where they were penalized for holding many many times with a non ACC crew. His numbers took a dive when he went out of conference and they held the OLine honest.

Certainties about Paul are:

Jan 20, 2017, 1:06 PM

He wears glasses..he is thin with a pencil thin neck (like mine!)..is fairly intelligent (like me).. And loves the SEC & his Bammers.

and ain't worth a ####.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I forgive him.

Jan 20, 2017, 2:12 PM

I do not condone his and ESPiN's pushing LJ to the top way before the season got started by looking at only the stats LJ had against a program which had only existed less than four years, a D2 team and the ACC's cellar dweller.

I also don't appreciate that they presented a QB with a completion ratio less than 50% as a legitimate contender for the award. That behavior is immoral, unethical and should be a violation of federal monopoly law.

I also impeach his attitude and attribute it not to fair and honest journalism and firmly believe it is nothing more than sucking up to Dabo to entice him to become Saban's replacement. Effinebaum

Archie Griffin won it twice, Vince young should've won it,

Jan 20, 2017, 2:27 PM

Herschel Walker probably should've won it in '80, DW4 will sadly go down in history as the only guy who should've won it twice and didn't at all...

always good when Finebaum and the SEC have a little egg on their face.
