LSU's defense when we played them
May 2, 2013, 5:21 PM
|
|
I did not realize how talented this team was on defense until I read this:
"..the LSU Tigers lost eight defensive players to the NFL draft..."
We had those guys cramping, throwing up, etc.. I love it and I am still watching the LSU/Clemson game and WOW what a game. Clemson wins every time and my freaken QB hits 4 and 16, everytime.
Hope our tigers can keep the momentum. Have you kicked your dog today?

I lol'd when Eric Reid was taken before Nuk. And then again when Tharold Simon was taken in the 4th (I think?). One person made both of these guys look they'd never been on a football field, much less played in the secondary in a bowl game against a top 15 team.
I think that's where Nuk made his money - scouts saw him beating 1st round talent. In addition to the LSU guy...rememeber that he also had a good game against first round corner Xavier Rhodes.

I'm worried about the players we're losing on offense. Nuk, Freeman, Ellington, Brown, Cooper (however long that will be).

when LSU was gassed in ATL, we must remember that was played in Late DEC in a climate controlled dome. Imagine how soon they would have been falling out had it been in the Valley in Late August, even at 8 pm. Hey wait thats what UGA is gonna face.
I cant wait!

Actually when you drop like flies, the game is stopped - so you can substitute.
Sounds like sour grapes because we beat an sec team that you didn't, but your presence here proves your envy alone.

actually we are in our third year of a new S&C program that has produced amazing results....plus we practice in the heat. no need for an indoor practice facility in Athens.

LSU has a pretty nifty indoor practice field ...

Not sure how much they use it during the summer, because I don't follow them that closely.
It is certainly a possibility that they don't practice often in the Baton Rouge heat. We'd have to have a LSU fan confirm though.

There won't be a peep out of them. Well maybe not, they will be silently peeping in getting their self mad as h&ll from all the junk we will be talking about them. When you talk as much sheet as they have, they should be able to back it up. On the other side, if they was to win against us. The coots better get ready to have their a$$es handed to them. Ugay and their fans hate the coots as much as we do!!!

They use it when it rains. It allows you to fully use the practice time allotted, so it is an advantage in rainy places (check the national rainfall chart and see how dark clemson is on the scale).

I was just pointing out the possible fallacy in the Clemson fans line of thinking.
The reason LSU's defense had their tounges hanging out at the end of the Peach Bowl was because they had to defend 100 plays.

May 6, 2013, 2:48 PM

You said, "The reason LSU's defense had their tounges hanging out at the end of the Peach Bowl was because they had to defend 100 plays."
So is this an excuse for losing? B/c we were able to run more plays? I assure you that the continuation and speed of our drives was from the winning game plan and not by happenstance. Your comment gives us all the credit we deserve, I guess that was your intent.

It's a legit reason as to why Clemson won the game.
Clemson's D stopped LSU's offense on about 9 three and out drives, thereby giving Clemson's uptempo offense a chance to do it's thing and wear out the opposing D.
You're wasting your time searching for perceived slights to your team.

OMGGGGGG you really cant handle the freaking fact that your mighty SEC brother got beat by lil ole sorry @ss Clemson.. LOL this is so stupid... Clemson won and that will never change just like USC beat Clemson this season and the 3 previous to this and that will never change. Clemson won because LSUs O was simple and they got beat at the point of attack many times. Our D actually saved us and that let our O get into a rythem. And when that happens most Ds are in trouble. See thats why my SOS went for it on 4th down when he did because he had zero respect for our D and I dont blame him anddddddd he did not want Clemson to get into any type of groove on O. Clemson got in a groove on O and LSU was dead at that point....

Clemson had the same month off as LSU and the Clemson offense played the same 100 plays.
And it was the LSU defense that was CLEARLY gassed.

I'm just pointing out for most bowl games the emphasis is different from a typical regular season game, especially for the players. It's more of a relaxed environment and teams don't always come out best prepared.
I honestly feel bad for Dabo. The expectations are unrealistic after the bowl that your offense is so explosive that you're going to leave every defense gasping for breath. That didn't happen during the regular season and won't happen next season.
I know why fans would rather use the bowl game as the basis for the future instead of a larger data sample. However expectations should be tempered.
