This team can only hit fastballs. Any team tbat go throw breaking balls for strike shuts our bats down. Seems as though tbe entire country knows this!!

Cam and obertop had tbe lead-off man in tbe 7th or 8th and neither were patient and didn't even make it interesting. Look at our batting average against RPI top 30 teams I've done some math and early into it it looks like ..240's. That isn't even close to top 10. This team is built to hit the fastball (unless it's above 94) and that's it. They feasted early in tbe season on this, but the scouting report is out and we can't seem to adjust.

That's what happened in the 9th too. 10 breaking balls and 3ks. No fastballs.

It was 19 strikeouts first game. The starter alone had 16. So that’s 33 strikeouts in two games. Good Lord!

Exactly. Any Major D1 team can a grooved fastball. The elites adjust, hit the other way consistently, make a pitcher work. We lock in on the hitter and swing away. We are not ready for the bright lights "YET". It will come but we are not a top 10 this year. The polls are fools gold and that's why folks around Clemson are getting so upset. Tigers are more like #16.

You are up 4-1. Need pitchers that can hang on to the lead. This is a glaring issue and the only one that is a concern imo. Scoring is normally not an issue.

Exactly , yes we are striking out way to much but some games (especially on the road against a top 15 team) you a rent going to score ten runs a game… but when you have those 4-5 run leads you have to have help out the pen and we just don’t have anyone that can hold a lead it doesn’t seem like. We def left two runs out there with base running but I don’t think it would have mattered with this pen unfortunately.
