Nice list, but there are several on the list that shouldn’t count because they transferred (Prooer, Grant)

Then they would be there forever too. Laetner, Duncan, Sampson, etc etc etc etc...all 4 years. They would be first team multiple years in a row. There wasn't room for others.

Not top 7 for sure. Every year is a different year and players used to stay 4 years. That comparison is meaningless.
Dale Davis Skip Wise Eldon Campbell Sharone Wright Chris Whitney Trevor Booker Greg Buckner
There is 7 right there.

LMBO, I don't think the question was how would PJ add up 20-30-40 years ago. But I agree PJ wouldn't have ever been a slouch playing way back when. He has the smarts, height, weight, and body type be a really good BB player regardless of what generation he come up in...

No not right at top, but at least top 10 or so
Defintelly contnues that tradition of great bigmen with Tree, Nance, Grant, Campbell, Davis, and Booker.

I watched them all and any of them would be dominant now too. Despite what the perception may be, Clemson has had some great bball players come through. Everyone talks about Horace but his twin brother wasn't bad.
Horace is probably Clemson's best player ever.
PJ'S story is still being written but imo, he's had a lot of help around him to make him more dominant. Especially this season.

I think that PJ would better than he is right now if had that fireball in his gut that won't allow even much smaller guys to back down from anything or anybody if their manhood was challenged. And I'm not talking about throwing down on the court and start swinging out. I'm talking about when players are wanting to force their will up against him. Like how a Dennis Rodman was, or a Shaq, or a Larry Bird mentality on the court... PJ has the size, I just haven't seen that type of fireball in him...

Agree. Wise was the first ever Freshman 1st team all ACC. Beat out Phil Ford for it. We forget how good those guys were. Nance is overlooked because he played on bad teams. But he had a good pro career and won an NBA Slam Dunk contest.
No way to take away from what PJ has done - he deserves his All ACC - but he is not a Clemson Top Ten. It was Hunter who carried us in this tournament, not PJ, and if you trade PJ for Grant, Nance, Wright, Booker, Tree ... and maybe Davis or Campbell ... we're still playing. And that's just the centers.
PJ is great. No question. But no way top 10. He is not good enough from the outside to beat teams there, and not good enough inside to dominate there. Or chooses not to. But is a great all around player.
I think Brad is frustrated with him, to be honest. A bit more Chef to him, and he might be Top 10.

Basketball I would have to say Larry Nance
Best overall is tough. We may be watching the best right now with Valerie Cagle.

If Skip Wise (1974-75) had played more than the one year he may have gone down as the greatest. Drugs spoiled his pro career.

Very very true. He was the best ever. If his personal life was better, he would be among the greatest ever…. And a very very wealthy man. Stan Rome was no slouch either…. And they both played at Clemson together.

the most impactful. Him coming to Clemson could pave the way for future Top 50 recruits to walk in the door, similar to how the CJ Spiller recruitment began to turn the tide in football. That's my hope, anyway.

I do think he's arguably the most versatile though. He can score inside, outside, and at the mid-range. He rebounds, plays good defense, and blocks shots. He's a good passer. He's a good leader.
Definitely one of our best ever.
