If Clemson would oversign like SEC schools, this year would

be an excellent year to take a big step forward and finally overcome that 12 man recruiting class from 2009. Oversign and use the summer program to evaluate and weed out some of the least productive players.
Coach Swinney and staff seem to have a lot of interest from some really good players, but with our low numbers this recruiting class, we have to tell some very good players no.
Too cold blooded? I'm not advocating that we do this, just that it offers a tremendous advantage to those who are willing to do it.

day, there will be a spot. This staff, and most staffs across the nation, will not say no to certain players. Guys like Adams, Fuller, Green, North, etc will have a spot.
Even if we get a verbal from Dye, I feel like we still have to take Green. The only problem would be if Gallman's feelings were hurt, but who knows... maybe he'd be the type of guy excited to have the #1RB on the team.

that the SEC's new rules on recruiting numbers will be completely ignored by the member institutions???? (with the possible exception of Vandy) Mizzou and ATM must be licking their chops at the prospect of oversigning each and every recruiting class with absolutely no recrimination.
The diff between Clemson's numbers and usuck's numbers over the last 4 years is another entire recruiting class

The funny thing is, not long ago the sportswriter for the Rome, GA paper wrote an article in which he claimed Clemson was one of the worst in the south for oversigning. Have written him several times asking for sources and accusing him of confusing us with USCjr. But he is hiding under his desk. He is def. an SEC homer and always makes fun of Dabo. He made a headline about Sammy's arrest, but downplays UGA's.

I understand the red shirting and all but with 85 scholarships available to a team and not all players red shirt the numbers a slightly below a 4 year 85 scholarship period. so to say that Clemson even comes close to oversigning 20% is just crazy.

A HS coach was quoted saying Clemson is already turning some away. That's a good position to be in. It's also a class move, not stringing these guts along till signing day like certain someone does.

We could but I don't think that is fair for the players we seek to have play for us. It is not our style of recruiting. We expect our recruits to be honest and sincere with us then we must be with them too. In this way we will continue to get good quality young men and women.

Seems to me that when a player commits to Clemson we expect him to have the integrity to keep his word. If we start over-signing to the point we are cutting players who work hard on and off the field to keep their commitment to us, we wouldn't be keeping our word to them.
What does a man gain if he sells his soul?

It is a shame that this practice is allowed to continue... i was shocked that the Noles and Miami were so high up the list , can you imagine ? That must have been erroneous , not the Noles and Canes ....
