How we beat LSU.
Dec 4, 2012, 8:36 PM
|
|
Offense
We must face the fact that at the point of attack we will be outgunned by their D Line. We have to roll Tajh out of the pocket consistently. There will be no room inside the tackles for AE or Hot Rod.(except for the draw)
We must attack the edges and be creative with our plays. (tight end drags, RB/WR Screens) If we can get them moving one way, they almost always overplay the mis-direction and it is easy to hit the back side WR/RB.
Expose their secondary. It is their weakness. Tajh should be able to pick them apart with time.
Defense
Simple, press, press, press... ZM is Dylan T. minus 10. Slower, less accurate, and more prone to get rattled. Man up on the outsides and load the box. Cover 1 over top.
They have no elite RB, no elite DBs, just great line play. Let's gameplan for that just like we should have done against Usuck!

Your defense better come ready to go then because the 2 games they lost they scored 6 to Florida and 17 to Bama. When they get over 20 they're undefeated this year.
They also only give up 16.9 points per game. Thats 11th best in the nation.

"Man up on the outsides and load the box." "They have no elite RB." Does not compute.
"no elite DBs" I think they have 2 guys entering early. The free safety is a projected first rounder in this year's draft.

They have no 2ndary...Beleive what you want bayou badger but you guys have no one on the edges to cover nuk and Swatkins..
Plus, you have no identity at RB. Are you power or speed? Confusion has been you achilles heel all season. We will exploit that.

They have two RBs that are huge and with a mix of speed and power and a FB that can pound it up the middle too. Most teams would like to have the change of pace backs they have we used to with Davis Spiller though they have no one near Spillers speed

Nice job helping me get my point across. Our FB is 280 and a bone crusher.

Yeah Copeland is a beast but I think we can stay in this game and if it is within a posession have a chance to win it late but definitely agree with you that you guys will pound the ball repeatedly to wear our D down. If we can score a few early we have a shot but if we get out of rythm on O like against USuC it will be a long night.

Very good analogy. I believe this will be a good game. LSU defense will have to play really well. Is your QB pro style or dual threat?

He's got a pro arm but only 6'1 goes through his progressions pretty well but is also a running threat and we like to throw in some zone read to keep the D honest. Overall he looks to throw the ball first but isn't afraid to tuck it and run and not scared to take a hit.

I know you guys travel well but I would think it would be close to 50/50 split with slight advantage to you guys. A lot of fans are still upset over the loss to USuC so that may hurt attendance slightly.

I was talking about when running he will lower his shoulder and rarely slides to go down. Yes when he is pressured as bad as USuC did he gets a little trigger happy but that is the case for most QBs. When you have no time to throw its either rush the throw or take the sack.

Thats a long time to control the ball, but thats what wins games. LSU is a run first team.

LSU's starting RB has missed most of the year with a knee injury. I remember being impressed in an early game of theirs on TV, but he wasn't anywhere to be found vs the Coots. It didn't matter though. Their freshman ran for about 150 and 2 TDs in that game. From what I've seen, I think he has pretty good combination of power and speed. The other 2 guys run hard, but not really big play threats.

Alfred Blue is out with a broken foot. There is Spencer Ware who is power, Mike Ford who is quick and can get to the edges, Hilliard who is big and powerful and Jeremy Hill is the freshman you speak of. He has a combination.

I'll go ahead and make some calls to cancel the game...we clearly have no shot. We've got one of the worst offenses in the nation who struggles to put up points.

Say what you want about your offense. A fresh rested LSU D will crush your O. Your other issue is you'll don't have D.

were in a world of hurt huh? You're in for a rude awakening. Clemson is gonna hear they have no shot for 3 weeks and if you know Clemson history, we aren't fun to play when we have no shot. We were told we had no shot at Auburn and Cam, who played them the toughest that year? Wasn't LSU and that was a bad Clemson team. Clemson had no shot vs #6 Tenn in 2003 and we smacked them down

Are you that big of an SEC homer. Clemson took them to overtime meaning it was tied at the end of regulation. We were the only team to take them to overtime that year. We were also up 17-0 in the first half.

You know nothing about the LSU tigers. ZM is pretty accurate , we have 5 elite rbs, you wont get to the edges, and our dbs are pretty good. The ONE thing you did det right was load the box.

That was before we overhauled the offensive line. We replaced Alex Hurst, who was a senior pre-season All-SEC OT that was playing terribly and has since left the team, and Josh Williford with some freshmen that have been mauling the likes of Alabama and USC.
