How can the Clintons be so lucky? Bill gets elected twice
Feb 27, 2016, 11:29 PM

without ever getting 50% of the vote, because of Ross Perot. Now, Hillary may well get elected because blowhard Trump keeps getting 35% of the primary votes, although 65% are against him. Meanwhile, someone with a real shot at beating Hillary, like John Kasich, gets left behind.

I like Kasich, but he does not have the financial war chest to win and he is letting the other GOP candidates suck up all the oxygen at the debates.

I agree, but we are talking reality TV here. The GOP has been over run by an emotionally charged base of reactionary mouth breathers that equate talking tough to good leadership.

The republicans have spent two generations creating the atmosphere for Trump to be successful and are now upset when it actually happens.

over the last 15 years, they wouldn't be left with so many irate voters.
Although I certainly don't expect the leaders within the Republican Party to recognize their own shortcomings. To them, blaming the media and those who are voting is much easier.

But I probably missed that "50% of the vote" thingy 'cause I have no idea about that.

On the other hand, the ONLY reason Clinton didn't get 50% of the vote in 92 or 96 was that Ross Perot ran the most successful third party campaign run during our lifetime. Neither major party was going to win with 50% of the vote. Bush and Gore were virtually one on one. Whole different thing.

I have never believed this e-mail stuff would stick to Hillary but with the latest release, it appears that 60 or so were marked classified. I don't believe the Justice Dept. can sweep it under the rug any longer even though they will try. She is most dishonest woman in politics and people vote for her. Baffling.

Politician is Greek for Bullsh*tter . Wake up , nobody that wants to run the show will ever tell the whole truth to those they are trying to get to pull their lever . It's funny that we as Americans squabble over the choices we are given instead of taking control and making our own choices . American political process hasn't worked for the people in over 50 years .

The only problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money. Quote Unquote.
If you are middle class like I am and like having 39% of your bonus taken from you after you are by no means living high on the hog vote establishment! Our government special interest groups and people that do not won't to work hard to move up are stealing from the lower, middle, and upper middle class. A flat tax of some sort is needed so everyone pays in. Not saying my family should not pay a little more than those that are making minimum wage, but everyone should pay something.
Look at the Iran deal which has no signature, ISIS rise due to pulling out of IRAQ, etc. Look to this for the current party and Clinton.
Unfortunately I have lost all confidence in either party not to be run by the far left the far right or special interest. Washington is broken. Term limits are needed as well as flexibility for a candidate to have an individual opinion that does not necessarily tow the party line.
I am also sick and tired of judicial activism. Upholding the constitution is your job if you are a judge. How this position has become so politicized is beyond me. We have a bunch of hypocrites in both parties that change their tunes when they are in power. Listen to the sound bites from them dems in the past about nominations and now they are changing their tunes and visa versus. It is like we vote for a bunch of toddlers.

It's almost as if a huge practical joke is being played out on Americans during this POTUS election cycle . The remaining 5 candidates who appear to have garnered enough votes to stay in it are all kind of special in each of their own little ways . You have to love that both parties have effectively crapped in their own Corn Flakes on this one . When will we meet who we csn seriously vote for ? Where are the mods ? Worst Election Field Ever ! #WEFE

Trump is the Obama of the Republican party. You can tell his followers about things he actually said or did and they just don't give a crap. If anyone is remotely interested in keeping what is left of the Constitution, Trump, Clinton, and Bernie aren't the people you throw your support behind.

the Clintons, severally and collectively, are amongst the shrewest politicians in the country.
They've played the game for most of their lives and have a knack for turning luck into fortune. If the race becomes a Clinton/Trump meet, no doubt the Dems will launch all-out nuclear warfare with both Clintons directing the attack. The tactic: to scare the he1l out of the American people with the possibility of Donald Trump in the White House. The result: the Clintons won the White House twice; the Donald will realize just how formidable the pair can be.

I think you mean the Newt led congress ruined our economy. I used to think Bill Clinton would be remembered as a great president. But now it's hard to argue in 50 years he won't be remembered for giving in to the Republicans.
Clinton sold out his voters on things like welfare reform and healthcare.

Isn't the real question how could the GOP base be so fn gullible? ??Trump is an absolute train wreck. That last "debate" was like watching / handful of middle school girls argue over who's prettier during recess, a complete & utter embarrassment to the entire party. I find it daunting that, out of an entire great nation, these are the only candidates that were chosen to represent the Republican Party. It's deplorable actually.

and scared of him. He's got the nomination wrapped up.
I doubt he gets 15% of the Latino vote in the general election. Democrats are going to win in a landslide.

If you object to the direction

Our country is going then the best way to change course is vote for the republican nominee regardless of who it is. I see Trump winning the republican nomination and though he is my last choice, I'd rather Trump win than Bernie or Hillary. I want to break this cycle and hopefully reverse obama's policies. Wishful thinking!

Things like universal healthcare and free education are inevitable. You might be able to delay them but you're never going to reverse them.
Maybe we will see a conservative revolution again like in the 80s but it's only temporary. But when your policies are designed to benefit the few and make life worse for the masses you're never going to be able to sustain it

The conservative revolution of the 80's would not have happened. Will have to say the Republican's were very smart in the way they used anxieties created by losing in Vietnam to get enough Americans to vote for the very same people who caused their incomes to stagnate while the cost of living rose.

OK, ok..don't vote, or stop working, or don't pay taxes!

One of those should change the equation of what type candidates we get in the future..if there is a long-term future for America.
As a novice historian (I forget who landed in America in 1609 or was it 1906?) I've read that a country goes down the tube when it allows large groups of non-invasive immigrants to settle within its borders..and they really don't want to be there, to assimilate, learn the home country's language or culture, to become citizens, stay among themselves, etc.
Does that ring a bell?! I believe that's what's happening to the USA now..but for political benefits that mostly help the Dems in probable future voters in effort to widely tilt the electorate & cause the Republucan party to suffocate into non-existence. Seeing it now!
And, since this Country was founded on religious freedom ..and then later declared it's existence apart from a bullying country ..with the freedom for everyone to succeed as they chose from hard work & getting ahead & keeping most of the fruits for themselves & family.. We now see this idea put on the back burner when a Socialist like Bernie come along & say it's ok to belittle the already successful or rich by taxing them to death..offering free college..etc.
What's next...free grades ( like UNC) to go along with the free college OR take the homes & businesses of the rich and move illegal immigrants into them?!
And, if the American dream IS over ( getting ahead by hard work or educating oneself) then why bother to work one's #### off..but just drift or slide by.
Whatever, I am very afraid for America as I knew it...not counting the drug/work issues, too many out of work & living off entitlments, low moral & morals, more secular society, etc.
Thank goodness to have a super college & sports program to follow!

Why....we've been a successful country without policies like that. I think people need to study what really happens when you elect socialist and communist into leadership.
I'll make a wager with you that it reduces the number of illegals coming to our country .
Who's going to pay for all the freebies?

All great nations fall. Socialism will pull out the very foundation of our country and we not be the power house that we were. We will no longer lead the world we will begin to follow.

polling poorly among all minority groups including women. As the race gets tighter he gets nastier and further alienates these groups as well as moderates and independents. The next two weeks will be carpet bombing that will continue to damage the Republican brand to the point that no Republican can win the general, though it will be Trump who get the nomination.
It's getting nastier and nastier.

It seems you are confusing the republican primary with the general election, which hasn't happened. The Republican Party is collapsing. They invited the nut jobs in and the nut jobs have taken over their party.

Speaking of nut jobs, the democrats are nominating a liar that failed in her last job, or a socialist that wants to create an even larger bureaucratic log jam in DC. Please explain the appeal of socialism. When I think if socialism, I see oppressed citizens that can't speak out against the ruling party or else they are silenced.
A government that takes more power and. Liberties away also have more restrictions on your freedoms. We shouldn't even be having such a debate.

According to Rubio, Cruz and Trump and their recent statements, there are no bigger liars in politics than Trump, Rubio and Cruz. The Donald told a whopper just this morning on national television. So, obviously, honesty is not real high up on your list of concerns.

Properly organized. The trump thing is a ruse. He is close friends with the clintons and this was his plan. If you believe for one minute that trump should be president, well clearly you need to reevaluate. They were all banking on him running as independent to split vote - he even intimated this point 2 wks ago. The goal is to put Hillary in White House and she will be there

I'm middle class and I'm not hurting , B. Not refuting what your saying at all , but I have actually never been better financially than in the last few years . My industry is doing well , and there looks to be long term stability there . I don't know why it is, I just like that it is .

Democrats election goes to HRC. Pretty much rigged.
The Clintons have masted a fortune on the American people and Bernie was a bum until 40. They have never had a real job.
When Bill passed the trade treaty NAFTA which opened up the flood gate of jobs to China and Mexico! The American economy downward
fall began. It is so sad that nothing is made in America anymore. Sad that most do not understand that stuff from China is killing us. How
things are made and what is in them.
Trump is doing well as he has worked 20 hours a day but he did not do it on the backs of American by working the government.
The working class of American people are just tired of the Washington cartel. The money is going to run out!
Even if Trump is elected. He will probably bring some common sense to government as a Moderate Republican!
I guarantee that more working Democrats will vote for Trump then Hillary.
If Hillary gets elected. Football will not exist as there will not be any money left for it. Even the rich! Your freedoms will be gone too.
It is hard to buy groceries now!
For the gamecocks, keep buying the chicken and beef at your favorite fast food restaurant. It probably come from China.
Everything free for all. That means no one has to work anymore! Sounds like a great plan. Not a laughing matter!

Labor unions producing shoddy products didn't exactly help matters
My father told me when I was a small boy that crooked politicians and labor unions would ruin America. My dad was a lot smarter than I ever gave him credit for being . I'm almost glad he isn't alive today to see where we are
