Got some ice cream at the 55 Exchange, stopped by the stadium to see the rock and Tiger Walk (so this is the right board), and went to Tiger Sports Shop to get her some Clemson gear that fits since kids grow so fast.
The turf at Death Valley looked fantastic.

And we drove past Sikes and there was NO ONE on the steps…..

I used to be able to run up and down the lower tier steps...all around the stadium...in 37 minutes. Seems like there were 126 steps on each section.

It might take 37 minutes now to get up top just once.

I have two granddaughters and one is grown and on her own and
the other is a teenager but they will always love you and your
wife and those memories that you are building. I know that she
had a great time with her Papa.

My 2 granddaughters are both still young. The one with us right now is 5 and the other is 2. This is the first time the 5 year old has stayed with us without her parents. They live in Camden and we usually go there to visit. The 2 year old lives in Taylors and we see her weekly if not more and she has spent several long weekends with us while her parents are out of town.

They call me Pops and there is a Clemson related story behind that too. The 5 year old has a couple of other grandfathers and a great grandfather on her mother’s side that already had grands that called them Papa so I was trying to decide on a different Grandfather name to avoid confusion. You probably have heard me mention my daughter was the Tiger Cub mascot and she knew Tajh Boyd from those days. Tajh had also called on me at the plant I was managing in Asheville when he first graduated and was selling packaging supplies for Piedmont National Packaging a couple of times so we had gotten to know him a little. A few years later when we were expecting our first grandchild, my daughter ran into Tajh before a game at the Esso Club and he asked her “How’s Pops doing? Is he still in Asheville?” We liked the way that sounded so I’ve been Pops ever since. Thanks, Tajh.

Taylors is a very nice place, In my early years after marriage,
we bought our first house in Taylors and sold later and bought
another one. This was in 1969 and 13 years later i traded this
great town for Cootlumbia. Good move financially but bad emotionally.

Our 2nd house in 1993 was on #18 at Pebble Creek in Taylors.

Sounds like a great day with your granddaughter! I remember the first time we took our daughter to Clemson, and Clemson Ice Cream is still a must every time.

She knows Tiger orange and the paw very well. Took her to her first game within days of her first birthday. She had just outgrown all the Tiger gear she had.

I worked with the students in the 55 Exchange program from 2020 through 2023. After 35 years in the food industry that was my semi-retirement gig. We still go there often too.
