After moving out of state 15 years ago for work, we are finally moving back to the Greenville area next month. Our house here in jawja went under contract on 4/3 and we're now under contract as of today to buy a house in Simpsonville. Can't wait to get back to God's country and be closer to Clemson football!

Couldn't wait to get out of Georgia, but was more excited about where I was going.
Make no mistake, this isn't the same Green-Vegas you left 15 years ago, but she's still better than Gawja! Welcome back!

Welcome to the 29680/29681!
Houses are sprouting up like mushrooms around here, and it's good to welcome a native and a Tiger back home.
Have a safe move!

Congratulations! We did the same thing a little over 3 years ago. Born and raised in SC but had not lived here since 1986. So great to be home.

Why would you do that to yourself? That place has become the poster child for urban sprawl. Nothing but tract homes and strip malls. And the traffic.....have mercy.

I work remotely so I don't have to commute anymore. Plus, that gives me time to find some "reasonably" priced land out in the country to build exactly what we want. Based on what I've seen on land prices, I don't know if that's attainable.

It had a small town feel in the 90s, but then it started growing too fast in the 00s and last decade. The Yankee and foreigner invasion driving up real estate prices, increasing property taxes, continuous clear cutting for businesses and subdivisions have turned the town into suburban Greenville. Rumor has it a couple of contractors have inside connections with the city and they work together in a back and forth to make each other money and kinda ruin the town/city.
Sometimes I wish I had never left the Central/Clemson area where I grew up, but there are more opportunities over this way and I probably wouldn't have had my son BigAl.

Did the same thing 20 years ago and haven't missed Georgia for a day. Gville has it's good points and bad points, but it's a fun place to live. Anyone who calls South Carolina "redneck" should go live in Georgia for a little while..
