Donna Shalala, Miami not backing down

We will see who is carrying the bigger stick, or whose bark turns into a bite
If I were to bet my money would be on the NCAA
They make the Rules, Judge the accused & punish the ones
who are found in violation any way they see fit to.
I really hope she keeps beating the drum, she is only going to talk the NCAA into giving Miami more than any one with Miami will want. Miami is not bigger than USC, PSU much less the NCAA

why, at this point, would you hope Miami gets it worse?

they've already been hurt in recruiting, and they've self imposed a bowl ban for the last two years. The schadenfreude we might get from them getting a bigger penalty isn't worth more years of having one of the ACC's premier programs continuing to be mediocre.

Really recruiting have you checked to see how many players they have signed over the past 10 years, where was the cut back.
I do not care one way or the other what happens to Miami
but I do know that if Miami keeps trying to buck the NCAA they are the ones who are going to be on the short end of the stick.
Some if not most times you get more punishment out of what you say than what you really did.
PSU found out quick and the hard way what the NCAA can and will do.
If I had any input on this case I would advise and like to see the NCAA address each violation year, player & coach on its on and not group them all together.
NCAA is doing Miami a favor by adding all the violations together.
Its been reported this went on for 10 years or more, at least 72 players, football & basketball, 3 coaches
I would have to check but I think Miami was on probation during some of thoses years
Like I said I do not care what happens to Miami they are the ones who violated NCAA rules, they are the ones who are trying to talk the NCAA into giving all that they want Miami to get

I bet Miami has the bigger stick. NCAA has botched this thing and drug it on too long. The self imposed punishments have exceeded anything the NCAA can prove. We ought to back Miami as a Conference. That creates solidarity.

LOL

Really so the Death Penalty would not be worse.
NCAA has accused Miami of the worst violation it has, Miami is not helping them selves by trying to buck the NCAA

The Death Penalty will NEVER happen again-

Feb 20, 2013, 3:10 PM

see SMU. In today's big money big TV markets , the NCAA will never levy the DP again. At this point, it doesn't matter how bad Miami was, the NCAA has been caught with egg on their proverbial face and Miami will probably just get time served. Miami just got lucky........................

Agree
But I also know that Miami can talk the NCAA into giving all they want to give, question is what will Miami fans & boosters say if that happens
