Did the fire marshal take the night off?

Tonight there tons of students standing in the entrances and portals around little John. Looked like a lot of freshmen (some of them clearly not the biggest sports fans, but hey they were there and had a fun time.) I wonder how that was allowed.
It didn’t bother me and actually kinda cool to get more students in, but just never seen it before.

The fire marshal is probably a coot grad so he was probably focused on watching the game.

I remember us sitting 2 per on every step in Littlejohn back in 1980 and 81. Had over 13000. That will never be allowed again. Go Tigers!!!

It is strange Spud. I was on a committee for our local theater when we were constructing an outdoor stage with a grass seating area. No permanent seating, just grass. I had to calculate the capacity of the grass area for emergency egress. It's a thing. There's actually a formula for it.

I was there for that one. Back in those days all you had to do was show your activities card and they let you in. By the OT, people were sitting on the stairs.

Yep, the fire Marshall had a fit when we played Duke in January of ‘80. We had like 14,800 and some change in there. Largest crowd that I can ever remember.

The Duke game in 1990 was pretty well packed.

These were the most comatosed fans I’ve seen. They looked absolutely bored and as if they would rather watch the Golden Bachelor

I wish they would move the team benches back to the same side as the students. When watching on TV, I enjoy watching the benches react to plays much more than the old people sitting courtside. Just my opinion... Go Tigers!!!

a highly ranked (#10, I believe) North Carolina team in Littlejohn. There were literally two people sitting on every single step in the coliseum, on either side of the handrailings, top to bottom. You could forget about going to a concession stand, restroom, or anywhere else that night. It warn't happening.
We won the game, too, 80-72, and the roof came off the place. Skip Wise put on a dribbling exhibition keeping away from the North Carolina players who were trying desperately to foul him the last couple of minutes. A GREAT time was had by all, except for those in Argyle Blue.
The Fire Marshall did his best Stevie Wonder impression THAT night, too.
