That was the first thing I thought of as well. What sucks is that Notre Dame is pushing for Stanford and the ACC will just bow down to them.

Pretty sure the most recent ACC compact is structured in a way where any new additions would negate the prior deal and allow for programs to opt out.

It could be a Plan B for those current ACC teams that might be stuck with an AAC or Sunbelt deal if/when it capsizes to have a better home.
