The D has been the problem the last two seasons. Defense wins championships. It's never been the offense. The D has been in decline since the LSU natty in 19'.

Did the math ....
Overall YDS PG (4 games) (basically 17 quarters) TOTAL DEFENSE 262.8 (1,051 yards) PASSING 183.8 (735 yards) RUSHING 79 (326 yards)
Duke/FSU (9 quarters) TOTAL DEFENSE 342.5 (685 yards) PASSING 232 (464 yards) RUSHING 110.5 (221 yards)
CHARS SOUTHERN/FAU (8 quarters) TOTAL DEFENSE 183.5 (366 yards) PASSING 135.5 (271 yards) RUSHING 48 (96 yards)

How many pick 6s, scoop and scores and turnovers that gave Duke a short Feild are counted in those points allowed?

Not to mention the pix 6 and fumble returned to the 1 against charleston southern and the fumble 6 against FSU. The defense has not been the problem.

The defense gave up 3 points in the second half. The issue with your statement is that number includes points given up by the offense directly (Pick 6 and scoop and score) plus the short fields of less than 1 yard.

I was impressed with the D. They held FSU to 17 points in regulation. That's a win almost always, just some bad luck for Clemson cost them, and some coaching mistakes. The team played a very good game. I have confidence in the offense and defense moving forward. The kicking game needs to get fixed. If the field goal was made at the end then we would not even be discussing the play call in overtime.

The Clemson offense has allowed the same amount of opponents TD's/points as the Clemson defense.
Facts hurt!
The Clemson defense has been pretty good. They have not been able to pressure the QB at times which hurts but overall this defense has held strong.
The offense needs to take care of the ball. Every turnover seems to lead to opponent TD

That is an unfair statistic. It is unfair to blame defenses for overtime points. The college overtime is better than the NFL, but really not fair to defenses. If two teams are tied after 60 minutes, I believe the game should be decided by special teams. Have a field goal contest between the kickers decide the outcome. The defense held the FSU offense to 17 regulation points, they were averaging over 40 on the year. The points against is penalizing the defense for the offensive mistakes, a pick 6 (7 points) versus Charleston Southern, and giving Duke a short field off 2 turnovers. The Defense has played well this year. I did not not agree with being so soft late in the 1st half Saturday, but holding FSU to under 300 yards and 17 points in regulation is pretty darn good!

We’re ranked 8th in total defense. Scoring defense unfortunately counts points scored directly off turnover against the defense, not even considering weighing the short field of other turnovers. Our rushing defense and passing defense are both 11th
