They put the Scroll of Honor on the space for the 50m pool to make sure it could never be built.

Two impediments:
1. Title IX ain’t going away so we don’t have the scholarships to add male athletes. 2. Not to knock swimming/diving, but I think most fans would place a higher priority on putting resources towards football than bringing back another Sport.

Speaking of which, has anyone ever ventured into the basement of the last building next to Bowman at the bottom of the hill before you hit the intersection in front of TDs? I helped move office furniture into it one summer back in '98 and there was an olympic size empty pool in there filled to the rim with old band equipment and tons of Clemson stuff. Beautiful pool completely tiled with the tiny square tiles. I thought it was awesome. I think it was an old YMCA building way back when? I'm sure someone on here has some info on it.

middle to late '60s. Had a guy on my hall from Maryland who was a swimmer. Don't know much about pool sizes but that was what was used back then. Sure didn't have enough women students to field (splash???) a team.

For some reason AD’s are snappy dressers and I only have one good suit for funerals, weddings and job interviews. Good suits are really pricy !
As AD I will: Restore Swim Team with proper facilities ADD Womens Beach Volletball ADD Men’s Lacrosse, current club team will be the Pioneers
And of course, beer sales at ALL events. Six beer limit at Basketball games though, since our hoop team will drive anyone to drink
I can start immediatly.

That’s good to hear. There was a big Ryder truck in front of President Clement’s house this morning. Didn’t say anything about it then because I didn’t want to see the hand wringers on here hurt themselves.

That championship photo was brought to you by this man
Kinda strange. The two football coaches he hired won national Championship(s) - Les Miles is the other. The only other one he hired that did not win it was Nelson Stokley (already won one with Ford).
