Great weekend, pretty relaxing

Friday, went to Clemson and met up with my buddies. Went to the Smoking Pig and ate a delicious brisket and pulled pork combo plate with sides of loaded potato casserole and sweet potato fries. I was too full to do a whole lot more that night so I sipped on some Nugget Nectar and watched tv.
Saturday, woke up early because I can't help it and went to Chickfila for a couple boxes of chicken minis. Killed time til about 1:00pm when I headed to Anderson for a volleyball tournament. Played volleyball till about 1:00am and then went home and passed out. We did not win.
Sunday, woke up around 10:00 and went to potbelly for breakfast where I devoured a smoked salmon bagel and another sandwich because I was starving. Sat on the couch till about 3:30. Went and saw Mission Impossible which I will rate at 7.5/10. It was much much better than the last MI but still your typical summer action flick with no real big surprises. After the movie, we went to Chipotle for burrito bowls and then watched criminal minds till bed.
Monday, woke up at 4:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. Now I am at work and want nothing more than to take a nap under my desk.

No great adventures.

Mrs. Tig stayed with her Mom in York Friday night because knee replacement surgery last week, so I drank several fun and interesting beers, cooked fresh garden veggie pasta, played with pup, and watched a couple of Netflix movies that I hadn't gotten around to yet.
Saturday, cleaned out the shed at Mom's house and fixed a few things around her house, went home and did a few chores around my house, rode to York and picked up Mrs. Tig for a friend's birthday party. Ate Bojangles BBQ at the party, was more or less amazed at how good it is, considering it came from Bojangles. Drank my cooler dry, went home and crashed.
Sunday, woke up with the intent of driving up the price of aspirin stocks world wide. Finally found the wherewithal to make the grocery run. Mrs. Tig went back to York so I made a fresh tomato pie, laid around like a slug until Joonyer got off work, then we took Mom up to Cabela's to look at coolers for tailgating. Went to Jim 'N Nicks Barbecue, had brisket, went home and watched TV until I couldn't stay awake.
I realized this morning that weekends do not recharge my batteries for the work week, but instead just further erodes any desire I have to go to work at all. I'm debating selling everything I have and just walking the Earth, going from place to place and getting in adventures. Once I figure out how to break the mews to Marsellus, I mean.

Not sure, but the @sses hangoing out of bikini bottoms
Aug 3, 2015, 1:25 PM

was enough to get a little barf in the back of the throat in a few examples. Evidently the new style in bikini bottoms are to cut them so the @ss hangs out in full view. Or maybe the chicks in dirty myrtle are just fat like that and have too small bikinis. Whatever. It works with a SELECT few. Most have no bidness wearing those bottoms.

It's a mom and her daughter, both of which have a revolving door of dudes coming over. The daughter just moved in, it's her dog. She's got some ###### up teeth too man.
These are the type of people who wear baggy pajama pants and hoody sweatshirts when it's 95 degrees outside, if that tells you anything.

You pretty much described what I expected. To me trashy and redneck go hand in hand although I know there are many differences and one can be redneck without necessarily being trashy. I definitely know the type you're talking about and it sucks you will have to put up with that every day and see that dog suffer.
It also baffles me how people like that could find guys that would sleep with them, but that is an entirely different matter all together.

I was able to remove it from my driveway and get it back to the marina, so my neighbors are probably happy about that. The rest of the weekend is blur. I think I drank a lot of beer.

Why do your neighbors care what is in your driveway?
Aug 3, 2015, 12:25 PM

I would understand if you had a racecar and was working on it, revving the engine and shiit, waking up the neighbors at 3:00 AM, but if you have a fuggin boat in the driveway, who gives a fukk?

Not sure, but they must. Just got a letter in the mail
Aug 3, 2015, 1:28 PM
|
|
dated July 30
"On a drive through this morning following an HOA member report we noticed a that a boat and trailer was parked in the driveway and they request this to cease"
He went to say if I has any questions, then to email him.
So I did:
Dear HOA dude:
I received your email re:my boat/trailer in driveway and it has been removed. I was doing some work on it I could not do at the storage facility in which I keep it.
Just wondering, since this was a fellow neighbors complaint, should I forward to you the pictures of everyone who parks in the street daily (when their driveways are often empty)that not only block my driveway, but also the road going in/out? What is the best way to handle this flagrant and continual violation of our HOA? Were there to be a fire, this could be a problem for fire trucks getting in and out of the neighborhood.
And yes, HOA's do suck. Actually, this HOA is OK cause they don't bother me much, it's my neighbors that suck. Since I only did some gel coat work and waxed it, I was pretty quiet. I'm guessing someone is just jealous.
And from this point on, rather than using my entire long driveway, I'll be parking in just the very end of it, so when your jealous ### is walking your dog, you walk slam into my trailer hitch while your dog is pissing in my yard.

I will be glad to help you make the HOA's life hell. I'm guessing your boat was in the drive maybe 3 nights? The person complaining needs kicked in the nuts.

But its not like it's an eyesore or anything. I'm squarely placing the blame on yankees, because 1)they don't understand boating down here, and 2)thats all that lives around me.
If the neighbors want to be like that, I can too. Our street is about 10 feet wide, and for whatever reason, most of these a-holes like to park on it rather than in their (empty) driveway. And that's not just one week, or a few days every 6 months, like my boat in my driveway is. And on weekends, its a game of "dodge the parked car" just trying to get out of here.

1 of 2 scenarios play out (THIS IS MY OPINION THAT IS NOT HUMBLE AND IS DEAD RIGHT 100% OF THE TIME):
1-Homes $170k and up. You've priced out people that would actually raise live farm animals and put rusty chevys on blocks in the driveway. If these people have a boat, it's a nice boat. And that actually helps the perception of the 'hood.
2-Homes under $175k-You may encounter folks that do stupid #### that HOAs are designed to prevent like pet pigs, live chickens, broken assed cars in the driveway, and $800 inboard/outboard boats that don't run and have holes in the bottom.
No trouble in #1, HOA can't do #### about the perps in scenario 2.
Net, a waste of money and time.

Yeah bro....EPIC MOTHERFUCCIN WEEKEND!!!!
Aug 3, 2015, 9:27 AM
|
|
Friday I worked then went to the gym and grabbed some dinner with the kids. Then we went home and I cut grass til dark and went to bed.
Saturday we got up, went to the gym, grabbed some food and hit up the grocery store (PUBLIX, YEAHHHHHHH!!!!) where the kids got FREE cookies. Yes, I SAID FREE!!!!! Then we went home and the kids took naps. I got on the lawnmower to finish up the yard. Also prepped dinner which was gilled lemon and balsalmic chicken. I grilled that chicken while BiL and SiL came up from Chester. Had a Sculpin with grilling, so I was hammered to oblivion. Played in the backyard with kids and dogs after dinner, then baths and bed. We MAY Have stayed up after the kids went to bed for some #####, I don't remember because that one beer got me SOOOOO drunk.
Sunday we did the church, lunch, swimming thing. The short naps and more playing outside. Last night we ate dinner and went to bed.
EPIC MOTHERFUCCING WEEKEND!

Friday night met wifeof- and sonof- out for pizza while daughterof- was in cheerleading choreography camp. Went home, watched the Mets beat the Nats in 12. Good start to the weekend.
Saturday - up at the ACD for a run. 10.12 miles @ 8:40 per mile, got home just in time for wifeof- to take daughterof- to cheerleading stunt camp then a morning pool playdate. Got a good morning nap in while sonof- watched Paw Patrol and whatever other garbage is on Disney Junior on a Saturday morning. Took sonof to Tumbletykes, then home for lunch. Afternoon concluded with the 4:00 matinee of Cirque de Soleil: Volekai. Was surprised sonof- didn't freak out (he still gets terrified of dark theatres for movies). Decent show, not their best, but an easier storyline to follow than some of the others. Jim 'n Nick's for dinner. #SoFat
Sunday - church, Costco, grocery store (with surprise beer find). Changed out the window regulator on the front passenger door of my wife's 2005 Pilot. $50 part, an hour and a half of my time to do it myself. Took longer than expected because the window regulator died fully closed. All the instruction sheets start with "lower window to half-open to remove bolts securing glass from traveller." Hard to do when the #### thing is dead, so that part was done blind behind the door frame sheet metal. Concluded the day with daughterof-'s end-of-season awards ceremony for her swim team. She got a medal, cried because she didn't get a Coach's Award trophy. Ate too many rice krispy treats and cookies. #evenfatter.

Friday night, stayed in and drank beer so wife could go out with girlfriends, drink heavily, and destress...she has a lot of things going on right now. Thoughts and prayers for her, God knows what she's going through, so you don't need to.
Saturday, went and saw The Book of Mormon at the Kennedy Center in D.C. Pretty awesome show, I recommend going to see it to anyone who enjoys laughing at political incorrectness. My first time at the Kennedy Center; it is pretty impressive. We walked around the building exploring, stared into the Potomac river looking at kayakers and paddle boarders getting their fitness on and wondered what it was like being near water so clean you could get into it, instead of being teased by a polluted mess such as the Inner Harbor. We then walked back to our Metro stop in Foggy Bottom, passing through the GWU campus where random folks were doing the heroin lean on park benches.
Sunday was a waste day, nothing much at all.

Good. On Friday, put in "official notice", which means I'm on the clock if boss dude doesn't beg for me to stay when he gets back from vacay.
Worked on resume slightly over the weekend. It's a battle determining if I want to go "narrow and deep" or "38000 feet big picture overview" due to the conflicting schools of thought that seem to exist between digital/web/tech and marketing/lead-gen.
Finished setting up home office in the event that I have to knock on doors and do my own thing for a while, which I'm more than prepared to do if I can decide that it's "time" and that I'm done enjoying my yute (which, I'm not...part of the reason leaving this other job).
On left is a 2009 iMac reFITTed to dual boot Mountain Lion/GNOME Desktop. On right is 2008 Mac hardware with Unity only (only 2 gigs of RAM)
Blend of anxiety and optimism about what's to come.

Lots of lake/skiing/good food/friends. No hangovers, which was nice.
8.5/10.
