Won SEC COY award.
You know, Cliff Ellis won ACC COY twice, but Clemson's winningest coach of all time has never sniffed it.

Oh, he's probably opened the trophy case and sniffed it a few times.

I said in another thread, you can count on Ohio State being one of them. He’s an Ohio guy.

I’ll need to research this. I don’t believe it to be factual.

Parish deserved the honor. He will get a lengthy and high dollar contract extension. Other teams will come after him soon.

https://www.si.com/college/southcarolina/basketball/breaking-lamont-paris-named-sec-coach-of-the-year-three-other-gamecocks-earn-sec-honors
BREAKING: Lamont Paris Named SEC Coach of The Year, Other Gamecocks Named All-SEC South Carolina's men's basketball team was the most-improved team in the SEC this season and the awards that were given out on Monday reflect that.
With all those team-based accomplishments, almost everyone in the Palmetto State could see a plethora of individual awards were coming, and the SEC provided that on Monday afternoon, naming Paris the SEC Coach of the Year. In addition, guards Ta'Lon Cooper and Meechie Johnson were named second-team All-SEC selections, and forward Collin Murray-Boyles was named to the All-SEC freshman team.
Brad Brownell's "best team ever" ended T-5th, #6 seed, and 14 years without ever being invited to ACC COY dinner. PJ Hall did make 1st team all ACC, and Ian was named most-improved. So there's something.

Cliff Ellis was named ACC COY in 1987 and 1990 as Clemson's HC.
Incidentally, he went on to with AP's National Coach of the Year as Auburn's HC in 1999. He also won SEC COY twice. He had previously been COY in the Sunbelt at South Alabama, and went on to win COY in Big South in 2010 at Coastal Carolina. So he won COY in 4 different conferences, plus a "natty" COY.

Brad Brownell did once get an award...
He was named the NABC District 10 coach of the year for being the best college coach in Ohio and Indiana in 2006.
As far as my research goes, the best Brownell ever did for ACC COY was in the sweet 16 season.
Coach of the Year Tony Bennett, Virginia, 47 Brad Brownell, Clemson, 8 Kevin Keatts, NC State, 2
Last year's results, after a 20+ win season
Coach of the Year Jeff Capel, Pitt, 57 votes Jim Larrañaga, Miami, 8 Brad Brownell, Clemson, 6 Kevin Keatts, NC State, 2 Tony Bennett, Virginia, 2
This year, win his "best team ever"
Coach of the Year Hubert Davis, North Carolina, 49 votes Jeff Capel, Pitt, 12 Adrian Autry, Syracuse, 6 Micah Shrewsberry, Notre Dame, 3 Jon Scheyer, Duke, 2 Brad Brownell, Clemson, 1 Damon Stoudamire, Georgia Tech, 1 Tony Bennett, Virginia, 1

Thanks! I guess the OP was correct.
I’m shocked frankly that on this era of unprecedented success in men’s basketball, CBB has never been COY.

Would you have opened your trophy case to let him?
