For those of us that were there or were old enough to remember, we had to sit around and wait for a long time after the pregame shows and warm ups before the game started. Back then both the Rose and Orange Bols were on NBC and the Orange could not start until after the Rose ended. It went long and we waited.

There is some rule that the Rose starts so that the sun is setting over the mountains at the end of the 3rd quarter.
