Enjoy your reading fellas.

Remember:
"I cannot look a kid and their parent in the face and say you can trust what a University of South Carolina coach says."

No surprise here, usuck has sold its soul in the name of winning and this is just part of it

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So what i got out of all of that is that the SEC cheats....

Jan 30, 2014, 5:03 AM

say it ain't so!

And yet, no school ever suffers any consequences, least... .

That could all change with the Northwestern players petitioning to unionize. I'm not for unions but this may end up having some good points about it. Mandatory 4 year scholarships, a set time and real cause that a school has to resend someone's scholarship, and even mandatory classes they have to take. It will effect almost every college in the country. I don't believe that any player should be paid to play college football. They receive scholarships that can cost more than $60K over a 4 year span.

I can't wait to see how Tennessee gets to 28 this year.
All I know is that I would have a hard time signing the LOI knowing that a school could pull it out from under me.

read this, posted by a Vol fan at another site.

Jan 30, 2014, 12:16 PM

I don't how much truth there is to it though.

"Tennessee can back count 5 from last year so that puts it at 28. One kid already agreed to greyshirt so that gets it to 27. I know CBJ is still heavily pursuing 2 more guys which would put them at 29 (4 over the SEC rule). Some people over at a vol board are talking about blueshirts, but I really have no clue what their game plan is other than to send some kids packing."

How can they unionize? They are not employees.***

Still confused on how Tennessee can be getting

Jan 30, 2014, 11:20 AM

away with it this year

Whatever you do, always give 100%.....unless it's donating blood

Because they are SEC and the NCAA has no balls?***

Keep in mind - "oversigning" is a bit of a misnomer, like

Jan 30, 2014, 1:28 PM

"commitment" is to recruits.

A university doesn't ultimately accept more than 25 (or 28) NLI (by May 31). They simply get 35 commits, and expect some will not qualify or some will change their minds. If the numbers don't work out though, they wind up telling kids - "That scholarship we promised is not available". This is NOT an NCAA violation...it's morally repugnant, but it's not a violation.

Folks, Dabo does this right. "Don't commit to us unless you mean it (you're not committed to us if you're still visiting other schools). When you commit to us, there is a 100% chance your scholarship will be here."

Exactly. Commit to us and we're committed to you.

Jan 30, 2014, 2:07 PM

None of this "oh, he might not qualify" crap. Isn't figuring out if the kid will qualify BEFORE you extend the offer part of the recruiting process? What a load of BS.

Oversigning burns me up.

Jan 30, 2014, 1:56 PM

Alabama benefits the most from this. They sign 5 or 6 RBs for example and just basically have a tryout and get rid of the ones they don't want. There is no morals in this. This is why Bama has become the empire they are. I'm glad Dabo and Clemson do it the right way.

Interesting...Houston Nutt has his own rule, what a putz!!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Isn't Lorenzo Mauldin a decent player for Louisville right now?

Jan 30, 2014, 4:35 PM

Loved that line about South Carolina coaches. But they knew they sold their souls for wins anyway.
