Was the closing hymn in our Celebration of Life Service for the loss of my wife of 44 years - Love of my life - Love at first sight - Three years ago - Still brings tears to my heart every time I hear or sing it!

We have a number of Getty/Townsend songs in our hymnal supplement and sing them regularly. I like all of their work ...... great writers and artists.

The hold a conference teaching writers and composers how to write modern hymns.
If you go to youtube and search "getty sing" you will find some outstanding Christian songs. In the coming days you'll see me post several of them.

Now you may not be a believer, but this did happen to a man who did nothing but convince people to think and behave differently… in a good, honest way. For that reason alone, I’m a believer in that!

I really wish the mods would encourage you guys to post your Christian messages on that board where like minded individuals can go to read them. When you put them on the main board, it becomes proselytizing.

What is it about someone expressing their faith about whatever (Trump, anti-Trump, Allah, Judaism, etc) that offends anyone? I just don’t understand why it offends folks and they can’t just jump over it on a message board.

You have to be the softest individual to ever log on here. Your telling me as a grown man, you clicked on a topic on a website, was immediately “ offended “ after clicking on another link that was in that topic? What the he do you do in real life , like when you ride by a church when going down the road. Immediately break down and call for help?

Why did you put quotation marks around the word offended? Who are you quoting?
Are you the angriest poster on Tigernet? I only had to go back a couple of posts in your history to witness your explosive anger.

Exactly why we need Jesus, he’s the way maker because we all sin but he died for them all, the father sees the son who never sinned as our pure cover without a blemish, we are all flawed and we ALL sin, that’s why we needed the love of Jesus to save us, we strive to live sinless because of his incredible Love but we still sin and repent( means to turn away from) with His help.
Jesus loves to forgive us fully so we can live in His freedom, he’s the way maker

I'm an each to their own type of man, and whatever religion someone chooses to worship is just fine with me. I won't push mine on them, and I hope they don't push theirs on me. I've been a Baptist from birth, and a Baptist I'll die. Regardless of your religion, if you love and believe that Jesus is the true son of God, you are a Christian IMO...

Because politics and religion are personal beliefs dudes on a sports chat board who are not your close friends don’t want to hear about, so how about being polite and just keep it to yourself. If we we want to know more about your personal stuff we will ask.

Ha!!! That’s hilarious. Like the rare, inconsequential number of “Christian message” posts are what keeps this board from being LIKE MINDED! Let me mention a few more prevalent areas of dissent: Brad Brownell The portal Walk on scholarships “Friends and relatives” on football roster Best bourbons Best nightly dinner Ginger or Maryann (or Mrs Howell for those so inclined)!
Those are areas of true dissent around here!

Agree with you on Townsend & Getty but you should hear it in 50 voice SATB harmony with full strings & piano accompaniment. Talk about a powerful message!

I'm pretty sure Krysten Getty is John Lenox's niece. John Lenox the famous Cambridge mathematician and Christian apologist.

Most praise music is garbage but this song is first class and should be the standard.
I also don't like individual people singing in a mic. Let the congregation sing.

Awesome song, this other song I like by her is for a child at heart but it applies to all of us especially in the Storm.

I’ve never known a man who accepted Christ as their Savior who regretted it.
