demise of the ACC. My entire 53 years I have grown up knowing the ACC as our conference, growing up in NC outside of Charlotte.
As a kid, the BIG 10 and to a lesser extent the SEC were as foreign as the PAC 8. The weekly papers covered the ACC almost exclusively, the magazines in the stores had the ACC content up front and my friends and I would compile ACC all-star teams in both football and basketball.
I had a flag set of ACC pennants on my wall.
The ACC basketball tourney was big time and Jefferson Pilot was a great sponsor.
I understand the need to move but I won't celebrate leaving the only home I have known my team to have.

The best I could do was tolerate the basketball officials.

However, there was a time when the ACC served our needs for practice games in prep for the post season but when the opportunity cost rose to $25 million/yr I got over it real quick. Splitting playoff money with conference mates who did nothing to reach the playoffs finished my feelings of favor for the ACC.
The last five or so years I have hoped the ACC would die a cruel death burning in a fire after Clemson realized what I believed I knew for a while now.

ACC has used Clemson long enough. Remember haw they gave us extra penalty when the NCAA charged us for minor penalties. They rewarded NC for not going to classes. They owe us.

…rest of my life from everyone in the ACC from Boston to Miami.
It’s like Kramer once said, “…it’s like it’s enough already, and I just want to get some sleep.”
I’d much prefer to get fresh incoming Clemson-bad mouthing from these mid-western yanks, if for no other reason than a change of accent.

While I understand the sentiment given how Clemson has been treated over the years, I would prefer the ACC over the other options assuming we had a competitive financial situation and could add a couple of elite teams. Aligning with the yankees of the BIG or the mouth breathing rabble of the SEC will have its drawbacks as well.
You can't always get what you want now, but you get what you need....

It's already dead. Just on life support waiting for plug to be pulled.

It's a shame we can't add a tombstone for the ACC, because no other team will be ranked except us and FSU.

nope, not at my age.
Digging the ACC's grave would be a labor of love. Speaking of love, I'd love to give the eulogy too.
