in the next couple months. Would that be a terrible idear just because they are hard to find? Are vehicles like houses now? Priced sky high and you gotta beat everyone else to it?
Greenr may have the need (and desire) to upgrade a vehicle soon and was wondering what you upstanding gentlemen, who know practically everything, know about the current car industry.

Tahoes? I would think they would go a different route.
Are there other options? Is it price and capacity?

jklol, price is 100% a concern, BUT capacity is an issue. Sequoia versus Tahoe was my line of thinking and the Sequoia is new for 2023 but I haven't been overly impressed with wife's 4Runner.

Torque converter is the latest problem in my dads Yukon. Pretty much has a fun new issue every couple of months, although sometimes it's the same problem that's been fixed multiple times like the injectors.

I've read a lot of bad stuff about the 2015+ Tahoe/Yukon..amazingly, in any engine flavor (6.2l as well).
The AFM stuff eventually kills the engine.

We had to shop a bit but ended up finding a decent deal. It didn't really matter what kind of deal i found though, it's what she wanted and it's what she was going to end up with.
She only puts about 4000 miles on her car yearly now since we moved closer to where she works and i have a company truck that includes free fuel. So we end up taking my truck most places.
The plan was to by used with high-ish miles then when it comes time to sell or trade in 5 years or so, it will be a low-ish mile vehicle for the year.

JK, I think waiting is the plan, but we have alot of plans right now since Mom and Dad are both gone. I am no longer tethered to York County and am free to move about the Country.
Buying a Tahoe is a smaller bad decision amongst the many bad decisions I have made and will make.

They aren't super reliable.
They are outrageously expensive in general. Not due to workmanship or reliability or anything like that, it's simply because of the demand. And I think that demand is driven by people that just like the look of them. They are even more outrageously expensiver right now, because LES GO BRANDON prolly lol.
They ain't exactly high quality neither.
Conclusion: Don't buy one. Not now, and not ever. If you decide to look past this excellent advice and buy one anyways, I'd wait a real long time.

A Sequoia? That is what I wanted and may end up getting, but Toyota aint the Toyota of old and I am unimpressed with Wife's 4Runner.
This article kangfirms my distrust of Sequoias (16 year old truck, no real upgrades) but it is the 2022 and not the 2023 model.

charts. I've saved every Consumer Reports automobile issue since the early 90s and I've never seen a vehicle ranked like that one has been since it became available to the general public. There are a lot of historically great Honda and Toyota models over the years, but Telluride's press all along has been insanely positive and surpassed anything I've seen before, especially for a completely new model. Even JD Power (which is typically a little more conservative in overall rankings) says it's a great vehicle.
Of course, finding one on a lot seems to be the real challenge with the Telluride.

We will likely be in the market at some point in the next year or two. I really like the way Tellurides look but I'm gun shy on Kia due to their historical reputation. The bigger problem will be selling my wife on it.
I have a Hyundai sedan and have had no complaints (other than that whole having to have the engine replaced thing).

landing in the US. They were cheap and not particularly reliable in their early years, but turned that around to become one of the better brands. I had a Sonata for about 5 years that I absolutely loved until it was totaled by a hail storm, of all things. To answer your question though...yes, Kia has definitely turned the corner and is producing a vastly superior product when compared to their early entries into the US market. The Telluride in particular has so far lived up to the hype over its three years of existence.

IMHO Hyundai and Kia are the current leaders in manufacturing for non-luxury vehicles, and even when luxury vehicles are factored in, I'd only put them behind Lexus.

It died completely at about 120,000 miles to the point it was junk. He had issues with it before then, don't know....never thought of Kia as being reliable.

I can remember the radio ads for the BOGO Kias at Riverchase Kia but I don't see anything on Google about it. RH Tig's video is similar to what I remember.

on WCCP while doing Saturday morning hazy-brain stuff. Those dudes were RAVING about how great an automobile Hyundai has morphed into over the past decade. Evidently the Hyundai Racing division has developed technology other manufacturers haven't. (don't ask me what). But these guys certainly are sold on it.
I don't know their names (sorry, I don't listen that intently, just background noise while I try and awaken), but these dudes preach to hold on to what you have right now and wait about 3 or 4 more years then buy electric or hybrid, that by then there will be major advancement.

can actually work on. Maybe if everyone else has gone electric at that point, gas will be cheap enough for me to drive something that gets 7 miles to the gallon.

I'm pretty sure their turbos don't require premium gas

because they tune them differently, but I remember reading something a while ago that said they had figured out a way to physically alter the turbo or the placement of the turbo to make it run regular gas.

expensive.
Honda. Odyssey.
I'd buy one 3 yrs old with about $50k miles. It'll get you through the phase where you need that kind of room. I know it seems like you are trapped with them 11 youngins for ever, but trust me once the oldest hits 13 or so the concept of packing all of 'em in a car goes away. Vacation is the exception but F letting vacation force you into a yuge car.
I have a suburban and LOVED it during the time it was needed. Should have gone the Odyssey route for a 2nd time but TRDJuanita was all like NAW I DON'T WANT ANOTHER MINIVAN so we got the Suburban and she drove it for like a year and got another car. Now I want to get rid of it because it's a waste of space and fuel.

it use to be hot ### soccer moms that were driving them. Now every bowling ball with legs wants them now.
Like when all the hot girls had "Roxy" stickers on their cars, then the fats took that over.
Then the hot girls moved to Beatles. Now it's old men who drive those.
Fats and olds ruin everything.

He had dudes checking him out at every stop light 100% of the time all the time and it was freaking hilarous.
