Not a moral victory guy, BUT i was encouraged by last nights

Dec 1, 2015, 8:34 AM

game.

Just like a win is a win, a loss is a loss.

But I really like the starting 5 on this team and think they play as well together as any starting 5 we've had in a long time. For those that complain that BB's offense is vanilla and too slow of a pace, this years team runs a much more uptempo style. I think it will take a little while for us to gel on the defensive end as a result.

Minnesota is not a great team, but they are in the big 10 and they had a really good crowd last night. It was the first TRUE road game for our team and i thought we really handled the pressure and noise fairly well.

i'm not one to complain about officiating but it really cost us last night. Every drive to the basket, Minn drew a foul. While our guys would take it in and got mauled and continually got no-called.

We will learn from the experience on the road last night and I truly believe it will help us come January/February. We need to take care of business in the next 2 against the Spartanburg teams and then get a couple of W's over the SEC opponents heading into Christmas.

Go Tigers!

yeah I didnt quite get the drive officiating. it was like a different standard for each team. I know Minn did some stuff we got called for

Officiating in the second half was terrible. There was a span when we were called for a foul on every possession. You could see our guys getting frustrated. Liked the effort though.

definitely... the announcers even made mention of how much

the officiating changed in the 2nd half. I believe they even said something about how much they were letting the guys play, and about that time things changed.

One thing that stood out to me is our guys' passion.

Holmes really wanted to win. JB, Roper, Grantham. They wanted to win. You could see it in their faces. They were getting frustrated but took on the attitude that we were just gonna do everything we could, despite the refs and what they were calling.

In the end, it wasn't enough. But you can't teach desire. You can't teach passion. Brownell can teach defense, and we'll improve there. And hopefully the refs will get it together.

But I like seeing our guys show that can of desire on the road in November. Says a lot, and hopefully this is something we can build on going forward.

I agree....

i believe passion is something we lacked from our recent senior classes. Rod Hall was great but not a vocal or passionate leader. Harrison, definitely not. KJ never made it to his senior year. Milton Jennings and Devin Booker, good players but not leaders.

This team, especially JB, Holmes, and Nnoko have some grit. They just need to make adjustments to this new style of play that is being forced.

Go Tigers!

Agreed. They play faster and cleaner than last year's team. They got a little too reliant on the triple late, but Minn was doing a good job of clogging inside. We shoot better, move better and play as a team better than teams of late.

Blossingame is a player, Davoe is a lot more relaxed and has really good range on his jumper. We are definitely better than last year.
