IMO, undeserved high praise.

I know plenty of folks who played back then and don't want to cast aspersions on their efforts or talent. Let us simply assert that, much like Ken Hatfield, Ingram didn't understand Clemson nor the pride in a once formidable program that, in the few years prior, had endured some tough times. His leadership, on and off the field, was negligible, because, again IMO, he planned on being a short-timer at Clemson--to use the Tigers merely as a stepping stone on his career path

He nearly left the cupboard bare for Red Parker, left the program listless and spiritless and for the first and probably only time in history, left much of the student population and fan base looking to basketball for Clemson athletic success. (Some of us from those days STILL remain fervent Clemson basketball fans---a Zantac decision if there ever was one.)

In true "Peter Principal" fashion, Ingram eventually became the Commissioner of the SEC

1995 was the year the Internet became mainstream. Windows 95 was released with built-in TCP/IP(Internet protocol) support, and many people were getting dial-up Internet accounts.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I found Tigernet in Feb 1996

Aug 17, 2012, 9:25 AM

there was no login. So you posted under any name you wanted to, which meant coots could just steal your name. It did post ip adresses like TAC does so you could verify, but it was still rampant.

The board went crazy when the overlords added a login. It was free, but a lot of people complained. They claimed their constitutional rights of free speech were being violated.

A lot of people are still around from the beginning years. Crump and Bmeist were students. This was their senior project and I think there was another guy that worked on it with them.
