New FSU Alternate Unis

Nov 20, 2015, 1:19 AM

These helmets are siiiiiick! I know a lot of Clemson fans don't want to have these different uniforms and helmets but I don't think it would hurt to have something new once a year.

I look at it as a reward for playing hard and winning. You do what you're supposed to do on and off the field and you get rewarded with nice alternate helmets and jerseys. What is it going to hurt? Sure isn't going to hurt recruitment because if that was the case Maryland wouldn't have a team with those ugly jerseys.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Doesn't help it much either

Nov 20, 2015, 5:42 AM

Cause if it did Baylor, Maryland, and Oregon would be much higher ranked in recruiting but they aren't. The "new uniforms aid recruiting" is essentially smoke and mirrors. The teams that do the best in recruiting actually use very traditional uniform ('Bama, USC, OSU, UF, UGA, Clemson, among others, all say hi).

I get your point. I'm a fan of the alternate jersey for big games. Just think it could add a lil edge to the game in my opinion. I know some people look at it like "if it isn't broke don't fix it" but I just like to see something different from time to time.

Dabo saw it as a distraction. I did not necessarily agree at

the time, but I do now. Nothing aids recruiting as much as winning.............well, and as the SEC schools have proven....cold,hard,cash.

Florida actually had different helmet logo now than the old "gators". Looked like a big "F" when they played USuC.

We don't need that gimmick.***

I feel that this alt. uniform falls on a age divide.

Nov 20, 2015, 6:16 AM

Older tigers love and respect our traditional look, young people want all the crazy uniforms that the pretenders wear on a regular basis. I'm no kid and I like our tradition. I would accept a different uni combo once a season if it was TASTEFUL. Some of the stuff schools wear, like on "black-out" nights is repulsive when your school colors are green and gold; Yeah I'm talking about you Baylor.

Coot fans for example find this very difficult because they're not the smartest bunch so they have jobs that pay lower wages and it makes it difficult to keep up with all their uniform purchases at the Wal-Mart lay-a-way every Friday.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, it falls on an intelligence divide. I'm 28 and would be

Nov 20, 2015, 8:06 AM

livid to see us come out in something like that. As stated earlier, winning helps recruiting, not ghey helmets.

I don't mind alternate uniforms (e.g. the purple unis for Sat) but DON'T mess with the helmet!

Are they trying to match the ugly Jags helmets? Their normal helmets are pretty sharp (those aren't).

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You sure those aren't just their practice helmets?
