Coach Prime meets the team (link)

College Football World better get ready. This man is coming, and I have zero doubt that he will be very successful!
Listen, to his message
So many lessons to be learned that translate to any leadership role. Neon’s ability to deliver a message in front of people and lead a group is fun to watch.
This talk, Deon Sanders first communication with his new team, is worth its weight in gold.
The message content , structure, his unwavering passion, ability to personalize when needed, and his gravitas is the real deal.
He is coming , and they will win. I enjoyed listening to him.

I personally think it’s awful. Telling a bunch kids

they should pack their bags because he didn’t recruit them is awful. College football used to be about getting an education.
Telling college kids “I brought my own luggage” is just a ###### move. I wouldn’t let my kid near him.

There are other things to dislike about this (him introducing his mediocre son as the new QB, his making a spectacle of this for the NIL world, the fact that he doesn't have an ounce of loyalty in his body and cuts people in a heartbeat (saying scholarships are one year and conditional), the fact that he's the least Dabo person in the world (cheating on his significant others, committing crimes, assaulting a teacher who expressed concerns about how bad the grades were of all his players)). Primetime is a piece of #### and was an overrated corner who was terrified to make a tackle.
But this is not something to dislike. He told them that he didn't want quitters on his team. He was going to try to find out the people who wanted it the most and would have that edge. If they didn't like it, they were gone. And if they were quitters, they should go ahead and leave before that. I see no issue with that.

That’s a refreshing talk in todays coddled world. Colorado is about to kick butt. “No hats, no hoodies, no cell phones in my meetings”. Yes!!!!!!

I thought it was spot on. You can see a few things right off the bat. Team look like a bunch of rag dolls, skinny kids, low energy with slumping. You got a HOF / GOAT in front of you due to the fact he never settled. I remember the 1988 CU/FSU game sitting in the rain when he said ‘This one’s going back’ and did it.
Anyone who has a problem with what he is saying is free to exit by the time he returns after finishing his business at JSU. Ride with him or hit the bricks bc he plans to do great things. I would definitely let my kid play for this man.
Life lessons in a football setting.

Yes sir. That’s old school coaching mentality and it’s needed. I was thinking those poor kids are about to learn some hard lessons. But they will thrive because of it.

His name alonE will pump money into the NIL and attract high level recruits. He's a couple of years away from competing for titles but they will no longer be the doormat

I’ve never cared for this coaching mentality from either side. “We’re gonna try to make you quit, for the ones we don’t run off… we’re gonna try to make you quit.” That statement made me flash on some of the worst coaches I ever met

He’s just telling them they will not be pampered and will have to earn everything they get. If they don’t want to work the new culture will not be a fit for them. I’m old enough that many of my coaches were WW2 vets. That’s the way they coached and players responded and the team was stronger for it. Yes, a few quit but that only strengthened the team.

My reaction to the speech.

Mixed.
Positive Strong speech by a new CEO who wants to make it very clear that he's the boss and there will be high expectations.
Negative Said nothing positive about any of them. Basically told them they were all guilty of lack of effort, lack of skill, poor attitude, poor work ethic, etc. (I know. He was using psychology to try and motivate them and get them to say, "I'll show him. I'll prove he's wrong.") Sounded like a drill sergeant on the first meeting with his recruits.
In both cases, that is his schtick. He is supremely confident that he knows exactly what he is doing and believes he will be successful.
My problem with Deion is this: It's never about team. It's never about the players. It's always about Deion. He must be the center of attention. If anybody around him succeeds, he wants to get the credit. "You couldn't have done it without me. I made you what you are."
Time will tell. If I were an AD and his agent called me I would respond, "Thanks for calling. We're not interested.)

I get what you are saying. I never liked shameless self-promoters. I have not been following his coaching career (or anything about him since he stopped playing) and am wondering if he has 'matured' any with his attitude toward others. After his NFL days, he could have just sat back and relaxed, but he chose to challenge himself with coaching. I think that says something about him. I'd be interested to know what you think. I have always enjoyed reading your posts.

What great coach in todays age isn't the center of attention

Dabo and Saban (arguably the two best) are both "look at me" guys that like to be the center of attention. It's practically a great coach character trait.

He wants to change the culture, and I believe he will.
I expect him to recruit well. If he assembles a good staff that can develop players and put them in position to succeed, watch out.
I also heard that he is donating half of his Colorado salary to Jackson State for new facilities. That's cool.
Deion's struggles and issues in life have been well documented, but I believe he has learned from that and is a genuinely changed person. He will be able to use his experiences, both good and bad, as he leads his new team.
I'll be pulling for Colorado, that's for sure.

He donated half of his JSU salary (which was only $300k/year) to JSU for new facilities. I don't think he'll be doing the same with his almost $6m/year Colorado salary, and I certainly haven't heard anything about him doing so.

I heard no great and inspiring message. I saw a man trying to build a brand and not a program. He'll jump ship just like he did Jacksonville State. Hope I'm wrong for their sake.

Assuming Prime runs a similar offense to when he was at JSU. Shotgun, passing, play action, very little read option or RPO (I only watched one game though)

"Prime" is just a successful person and he's going to be successful as the OP said.
