Looking waaaay ahead

Jul 25, 2021, 7:51 PM

We play AT ND in 2022, we just went there last year. Why are they not coming here?

Because they are Notre Dame and they get to decide things like playing one year as part of the conference, the next year as an independent so therefore they can decide. Besides the won the last game.

The last game that ND played against our Tigers was 12-19-2020, and they lost that game by a score of 34-10 with Trevor Lawrence handing that A$$ rocking to them with a huge smile on his face!!!

I will be there. I have had this game circled for a long time. Clemson fans will take over their stadium. ND has to come back to DV for 2023. Don’t fret it. I view it as an opportunity to further kick the domers to oblivion.

In Short: It just falls in line with our non-conference scheduling format.

Our seven home game schedule is typically (neutral site games aside) structured with one FCS opponent (usually in-state), one Group of 5 opponent, one non-conference Power 5 + ND opponent, and four ACC opponents. The five road games are four ACC opponents and one (the other) non-conference Power 5 + ND opponent.

Because one of those non-conference Power 5 + ND opponents is always South Carolina (and we alternate hosting duties with South Carolina every season), you can look at it this way...the Notre Dame game location will always have the opposite status (home/away) of the South Carolina game. We host South Carolina in even-numbered years/seasons, and we play in Columbia in odd-numbered years/seasons. So, the ACC, in its agreement with Notre Dame, is going to take Clemson's schedule request into account when placing Notre Dame on Clemson's schedule, to accommodate for this scheduling format.
