I have read all the slams on Rudy and our traditions. You have taken personal shots at me from the beginning. No problem but here is how I see it...
You say we are a program that's past but we played for a national championship last year. We were undefeated but we are overrated. We play some of the toughest teams in the country ( Michigan, Michigan St, So Cal.) We won our last championship in 1988. We STILL have the 2nd best winning percentage in all of football....but we aren't relevant anymore. These are your words.
Yet you have not won a national championship since 1981. You have only played in one championship game...1981. Your claim to fame is your domination ( your words) of a mediocre South Carolina team that now dominates YOU.
If our program is no longer relevant then what is your program ? I don't see anything that you have done on the national level ( and winning the Chic Fil A is not even a BCS bowl ) lately.
I know I will get banned but I am not coming back anyway...so in the words of Jack Nicholson..."You can't handle the truth".
I will pull for Georgia, South Carolina, FSU, and any other team you guys play.

I've stayed out of your threads, but I think the "truth" is that you came to team's free message board and were treated like most outside fans get treated on free boards.

Toughest teams in the country? USC, that team that was big time overrated and got beat by GTech? You notice that all of the teams you think are tough end up being busts? And Notre Dame always has close games with them, not because everyone brings their A game for ND, but bc ND is just as overrated. The only good team ND beat last year was Stanford, and that was a huge controversy. ND proved what they are in the national championship game, a pretender with history.

You came onto our boards and started calling us a bunch of hypocritical, hostile fanboys. How are you going to start bringing history into this (where all of us will admit your team obviously shines betters) when this is about you? You come on here claiming to want to "check out the fans of the new conference you are in" but all you do is slam us. First of all, you can't judge our entire fanbase by what you see on an ANONYMOUS ONLINE MESSAGE BOARD. Second, for someone who claims the hostility of Clemson fans, you definitely are quite hostile yourself starting all of this mess.
We are more than happy to welcome fans of other schools (I've seen a few Syracuse fans on here lately, and we have some cool SCar/UGA fans like DontH8Me and StalkinDawg). However, you went about it all the wrong way. You're no better than the trolls that come on here after games where another team beats us and talks crap to us.
And once again, it's just a troll to take shelter behind his team when that's not at all what the subject is about. Can't handle the truth? Dude, we're not trying to say we're better than Notre Dame or Bama or Michigan or any of those other power football schools. What we're trying to say is that we have pride and we're not going to take crap off of someone who is trying to step all over OUR traditions.

Method:
I averaged the pre and final rankings for ND and Clemson going back to 2003. Any "non-ranking" was assigned 50th place just to keep things simple. As in golf, the lower the average the better.
Over/Under rated rating was calculated by taking the O/U points from the years that a team was ranked in either the pre or final ranking. Some years a team had no O/U rating since the team was not ranked in either pre or final ranking. The higher the number the better. In other words, the higher the number the more underestimated the team.
Results:
ND avg pre-season ranking = 32.1
ND avg final ranking = 38
Number of times ND was ranked pre-season = 5
Number of times ND was ranked in final = 3
Over/Under rated rating = -10.5
Number of O/U ratings = 6
CU avg pre-season ranking = 36.5
CU avg final ranking = 32.1
Number of times CU was ranked pre-season = 4
Number of times CU was ranked in final = 6
Over/Under rated rating = -4
Number of O/U ratings = 9
My $.02:
While ND has had the better pre-season hype they've not delivered in the final as well as Clemson. ND's higher pre-season ranking indicates that on a national level the powers that be expect ND to do more leading me to assume that ND, as far as mind-share is concerned, is more relevant on a national level.
CU has the higher average final season ranking which indicates that overall CU is the better team. Naturally things like strength of schedule and home field advantage are not taken into account. I'm not a BCS computer, so I don't take those into consideration. 
The O/U final rating is what's most interesting to me as it basically sums up my previous comments. ND is regarded to be the better team by the media and football fortune-tellers while Clemson is the better team on the field.

I sincerely hope that the accomplishments of Notre Dame help you sleep better @ night; when you wake up I suggest you spend your time @ a Trojan or Big 10 board where your presence would make much more sense.
